32% - Still not really liking it.. I think it might be because of how robotic Kaitlyn is. I know it's the plot, but i read what she says in a robotic type of way, and it's making me bored!
It's like listening to my science teacher all over again. (His voice always stayed on one level, even when he shouted at pupils! Always made me sleepy.)

also, if she's more machine than man, and has these plastic bits, how does she still have blood for them to sample? cause they were taking it from her arm? and if her heart is now a machine rather than an organ, how does it know to pump faster when she exercises? is there even any need for it to pump faster if she's a machine? surely her brain still needs oxygen? how do they keep her machine parts working? what fuel does she use? I'm so ick about this book.

I quite liked which was an angel book. The author is sending me the sequel when it releases though so I'm hoping that will be good too!

--Not a whole lot has happened so far aside from Kaitlyn lusting over Lucas and trying her hardest to hide how "human" she really is beneath her wires from the rest of the world. Which brings up an interesting thing: If Kaitlyn's been programmed to not feel, why does she? If she's been programmed to only know the things the people creating/molding her WANT her to know, how does she even know what she's feeling is lust? Like...she keeps talking about wanting to rip Lucas's clothes off, but how does she even KNOW this is actually what she wants to do and that she's not instead having some sort of electrical fart? I'm a bit confused, to be honest...
--The world building is disappointing, too. I understand that because Kaitlyn knows next to nothing about herself/the area around her, we won't, either, but... I don't know. It just feels sort of flat to me right now. The writing is decent, the story seems interesting, but...I haven't made any sort of connection to the characters or their world, which isn't a good sign. Also, very confused--and confusion, as a reader, is NEVER a good thing (except in those instances when it is...like plot twists, you know?)

--Still a whole lot of absolutely nothing going on. Despite the lack of action, I still want to know what happens...which is weird, usually I'm bored out of my mind by this point but just... I don't know? Something keeps me reading. Maybe it's just how quickly I'm getting through the book...
--Aside from the whole lot of nothing, apparently Kaitlyn and Lucas have reached THEIR "major" reveal, about liking each other. Though how you can fall in love with a robot who's been lying to you the entire time about not feeling all the feelings is beyond me. That's like falling in love with a wall, isn't it? How do you fall in love with a wall, unless you splash a bunch of colors on it and make a huge mess in the process? You can't fall in love with plain walls. XD

--Wait, wait, wait! I don't understand....... HOW THE HELL?!?!?!?! DO YOU "DOWNLOAD"?!?!?!?! MEMORIES?!?!?!?! No, seriously, someone please explain this to me because I'm all sorts of confused about it. How? How is that even remotely at all possible? I get she's a robot and all, but...her memories were human? Shouldn't they have been lost the instant they removed her brain for a computer chip? How does that even make any sense? The world building in this book. I just.... I can't even. This is what it means to create "loopholes" to bypass all the gritty nitty details you don't want to think about while writing. Ick.
--And now she's on the run, and something's finally happening.......and I still can't connect with her. Apparently she's lost something like 4 years of her life but.... Why? Where? How long has she been a robot? I'm lost. I'm so lost. And also, WHY?! did she just automatically go home? She's a ROBOT, not a DOG--she doesn't have any sense of honing for home. At least, she shouldn't, cause that's just weird.

--I think I would have LOVED this read... if things had been written better. Instead, this mostly focuses on Kaitlyn's “obsession” with boy genius Lucas, their “fall” into romance, and the different ways she's so unique she can bypass even the strongest emotional overrides. None of this, of course, is explained in an adequate and logical way. Because she's special. Because that's just the way it is. Because Julia Crane couldn't come up with any better way to do this aside from just throwing story telling out the window and doing whatever the hell she wanted to. (Okay, that's a bit harsh, but....
