I don't know that it autoconnects but you at least have the option to do it. The goodreads app for the Kindle (and any other android product) is very weak. I can't view all of my bookshelves so when I add a book or finish a book I can't use that app to update my shelves. It is SOOOO frustrating!!!
@Lynsey: Make your complaint known to Amazon. If they hear from enough people, maybe they'll offer an update or something. I find their customer service to be pretty friendly (when you call them, their chat service is frustrating) and it's good to get your feedback on record.
I don't really care much about being auto-connected to GR either. Even though the GR app is mostly frustrating. I just want my Kindle for reading, so I'm torn as to whether or not to continue to wait for the new Paperwhite or just go ahead and order the current one.

I had a Kindle 3G. Paid... $189 for it? It was in beta, true, but still. The 3G was pretty useless. Had I known, I wouldn't have forked over the extra $50ish
Hmm. That's probably what I would get. But since the only thing I want to do with it is read books, I could probably get the basic, right?

I would definitely say so! Based on my experience, yes. The basic is what I'd get next time. Even in the house on WiFi it was slow, and now after two years it takes 15-20 minutes for a single book to load.
Maybe it's improved, though.

Thanks, Beanbag. I'll do that. I've only done it through goodreads and that was just a post on the blog about it. Yes, I've asked them for Candy Crush Saga in the Kindle app store too. :) Still waiting on that one! Even though the Kindle runs of the android platform they don't have an app for that.
I've ordered my new Kindle. It should come today. Sadly, I don't want to let go of my old one which has been glitchy. I'm one of those people who gets personally attached to my electronics. ;D

YAY!!!!!!!! Enjoy!
YAY!!!!!!!! Enjoy!
Ooh, Beanbag, I am jealous. Did you get the newest one? On that one you can actually stream the movies from your Kindle to your TV. Incredibly jealous. I do have the Kindle Fire HD but not the HDX. If only I had known they were coming out with it 5 months later! Grrr! I would have waited. I just bought mine in May.
I only got the Kindle Paperwhite. It's the newest gen but it doesn't have the bells and whistles that connect you to GR and such. I only read on my Kindle so I got the cheapest one -- the one with the offers on the screensaver.
Well, that's a good move. If you only use it for reading that is the way to go. I play games on mine...and the good news??!! Candy Crush Saga is now available on the Kindle Fire! Downloaded it yesterday. This girl is a happy camper. LOL

I wasn't sure, Lynsey. My daughters play on their iPhones, but I'm a novice at all the iDoodads and their apps. *sigh*
Now that this is out and so many of us have read it, how about posting a link to your reviews. We can start chatting about it.
Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I gave it five stars. As I said in the review, what I loved the most was that it was more than just erotic, it managed to be very romantic as well. For an "insta-love" connection it was extremely plausible as PC wrote it.

I think because it was lust at first sight, lots of sex, then a love connection, it seemed more plausible to me.

@Lynsey: you're stronger than I am. I tore through it. Then I licked my Kindle. ;D
@Dhes: Yeah, they don't even say it's love so "instalove" doesn't really apply, but it's a deep connection that definitely launches the rest of the story. I loved the time they spent together outside the bedroom. And the suspense of possibly being caught. It just heightened the tension both sensual and otherwise.

Loved all of your reviews ladies! Couldn't agree more...fabulous novella, I devoured it tonight. Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Even though I knew a cliffhanger was coming, that ending just tore me up...
@Beanbag - OK - now you are getting me to want to read it. Licked your Kindle? That is awesome! :) It stares at me each time I open my Kindle as it sits on the carousel. Maybe I'll give myself a treat this weekend. Then I will only have two weeks to wait for Striking Distance. Oooh chills, just thinking about it! :)
Did everyone read the prologue to Striking Distance? It's on PC's website. I'd wait until after reading First Strike to read it. It leaves you with kind of another cliffie, but it at least lets you know a few things that have happened since. :)
I read the prologue last night, and it was so intense!! I too recommend reading it after First Strike. The good news is it will make the cliffhanger a lot easier to tolerate as it answers some open questions.
I was going to hold off too, but if it will make things easier to tolerate...maybe I'll check it out. thanks!

Absolutely love Pamela Clare's I-team books. Just re read the series to get up to speed for Striking Distance. Quick q though, striking distance is listed as I-team, but I don't recall either character being mentioned before in the series - have I missed a trick or is this a fresh story arc?
Cancel that, I'm a spoon. I'm only just getting to grips with goodreads and I've just found Pamela telling us the connection elsewhere. Sorry!
I read this a few days ago, and it was very enjoyable. I'm not an erotica fan, but Pamela wrote a very good story here. Even with the understanding that these two characters were having a short fling, I could feel an emotional connection between them and it was a romantic story. It definitely makes you want to dive right into Striking Distance.
Agreed, Danielle. I definitely got the emotional connection feel between Laura and Javi in this short story. Just goes to show that Pamela is a great writer!
This book was really good. It had plot, likable H/h and the writing was excellent. Not your typical erotica which I do not like.

This novella won't convert me into an erotica reader, but Pamela Clare is an author I feel I can trust to write erotic stories.

I have definite limits to what I consider comfortable material I want to read about, and in this day and age I guess that makes me pretty vanilla. But I'm okay with that.I'm glad you felt you could trust me and that you enjoyed the story!
:-)
Thanks for your wonderful comments.
Danielle - so true. I've read some erotica but all is NOT good. I will not go out and buy it by some unknown author that self publishes. ;)Pamela - Your welcome. The book was excellent. More please!!
