Well, I actually was stalked and bullied for two years in high school so yes. Those feelings are real. (:

Alex | 149 comments OMG! :| How did you deal with that?

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell (neniacampbell) | 213 comments Mod
I wrote stories and read books. :D

message 6: by Alex (new)

Alex | 149 comments Were the teachers and principal blind or what? As a teacher myself, I can't ignore such problems. I get a lot of pleasure from torturing bullies now that I have the power. :D Let them see what it's like.

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell (neniacampbell) | 213 comments Mod
Mostly they didn't really care. This was back before all those famous bully-induced suicides. The attitude was pretty much like, "We can't do anything - sorry."

I even received some bullying from various teachers, too.

Are you a teacher? Really? I did not know that. What do you teach? It's nice to know that there are teachers out there who care about the underdog. Too bad you live all the way in Romania.

message 8: by Alex (new)

Alex | 149 comments I still identify with students so I can't just stand around and watch bullies do their dirty work. It's revolting to know that even teachers bully students.

Yes, I'm a middle school English teacher. I'm hoping to teach high school students in the very near future.

message 9: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (cowmingo) Ugh. I had a teacher in junior high tell me that the sexual bullying a student was doing to me was my fault. Glad to see that some teachers (even if they are far in Romania) are taking a stand!

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell (neniacampbell) | 213 comments Mod

!!! D:< D:< D:<

Ugh. That's just...I have no words. I'm sorry Stacie. <3

@Alex: Ha! No wonder your English is so good!! THE PLOT THICKENS. I think that's really awesome - it sounds like you're a great teacher. (:

Awww that is really unfortunate. =( I'm glad you made it threw the situation and everything turned out well in the end. At least as well as it can be considering the situation.

High school sucks for pretty much everyone, except the jerks, unfortunately. (:

That's wonderful. It is so great to have a job that you love. You are a very lucky lady. (:

You are so sweet to say so. I'm honored! Unfortunately I am not making enough to live off of atm, and have no healthcare. Soooo, job-hunt I must if move-out I want. :D

Thank you! I am thinking about maybe teaching. It would be so lovely to share the joy of reading. <3

message 19: by Alex (new)

Alex | 149 comments Even though I don't know you as well as I'd like, I think you'd make a great teacher. You're funny, kind and optimistic! Being a writer is a big plus for inspiring students! :)

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell (neniacampbell) | 213 comments Mod
I think I'd keep the writing thing quiet. I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable with the idea of the kiddies seeking out Nenia's stash of horror-porn. xD

message 21: by Alex (new)

Alex | 149 comments Sure sure, students will *not* google you. :D Nobody googles their teachers.. :P

Nobody Googles anymore, according to my 13 years old, they all use Bing. ;)

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell (neniacampbell) | 213 comments Mod
I don't know anyone who uses Bing LOL. I have always used Google. (:

message 24: by Jo (new)

Jo (jo_mafalda) | 12 comments I've never used BING,lol! And well, I'm totally a google fan! Oh and the google doodles are awesome!

Ok, now my question :
Is there any book genre that you don't like and avoid at all costs?

xx

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell (neniacampbell) | 213 comments Mod
Heh. I generally avoid New Adult contemporary fiction - especially if it looks like a FSoG or BD clone. Of course, there are exceptions to that rule - but they are few and far between. (:

Oh interesting :D

Can I ask another question?
Do you have a favorite book from Jane Austen? (I remember to read somewhere that you were a fan ^^)

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell (neniacampbell) | 213 comments Mod
You can ask as many questions as you want. <3

My favorite Jane Austen book is Northanger Abbey. (:

hahaha,you may have unleashed a monster :P

I KNEW IT! All the gothic vibe in it!
Oh and do tell me you LOVE Jane Eyre?

How do you came up with the names of the characters? It's an early thing on the process, like when you envision the character it already have a name or it's later on?

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell (neniacampbell) | 213 comments Mod
You should know, then, that I like monsters. (:

Hahahaha, yes, I LOVE Jane Eyre, and most of the Brontes' works, actually.

I don't really know. I try to pick something that sounds good and isn't too silly or strange. In fantasy and sci-fi books, I get to be creative - but I also try to come up with names that aren't too scary-looking since I want people to be able to pronounce them. :P

Aww :)

Oh they do sound good :) So far I can only speak of the Horrorscape series (but I'm planning to read all of your books) and I really loved the names Gavin and Valerian!

I'll stop for today, but I'll be thinking of more questions for next time! ;)

I have a few, Nenia.

1). How do you deal with that horrible affliction, writer’s block?

2). Do you have a literary character, your own creations or another’s, that you identify with most?

3). Have you ever worked out a problem you had in real life by writing the solution to a character’s problem? I heard an author once say that writing was both better and worse than therapy, because she worked a lot of her personal problems out through her characters. (Forgive me, it’s been 10+ years since I heard this, and I don’t remember who said it.)

The fact that you feel ill shortly after the 50SoG movie casting was announced is suspicious… Just teasing. :) I do hope you feel better soon!

Loki wrote: "1). How do you deal with that horrible affliction, writer’s block?"

I read books, or work on something else until I feel like writing again. Sometimes I'll just copy out the whole story again from scratch just to get a feel for the plot and the characters again.

"2). Do you have a literary character, your own creations or another’s, that you identify with most?"

I've never really found a character where I've gone, "Oh my God, that's me!" At least not recently. And for obvious reasons, I try to avoid making my characters like me.

"3). Have you ever worked out a problem you had in real life by writing the solution to a character’s problem? Writing my book, Freaky Freshman, really helped me come to terms with the bullying I experienced in high school. I wrote it the year after things got really bad, so there's a lot of pain and self-affirmation in it. I'm editing the whole thing to make it less personal and more realistic.

I have another one! :)

Have you given any thoughts to doing audio versions of your books?

Nenia ✨ I yeet my books back and forth ✨ Campbell (neniacampbell) | 213 comments Mod
Maybe one day! It is my understanding that it's kind of expensive, and atm I don't really have a lot of money. LOL.
