LOL, I'm still reading from last month.

So sorry to crash your restart, but I must rant about City of Lost Souls. It's sooooooo slow and I just can't get into it. I wish I was listening and I could just let it run by and I could zone out and not miss much. I'm half way through and not much of interest has happened. Though I do like the romance between (view spoiler)[Maia and Jordan...FINALLY. On the other hand, I don't like the un-Jace. I can't see Simon and Izzy together and though she claims to have all these feelings, I don't feel it. And would Alec just SHUT UP and love Magnus Bane! Alec is going to mess it up like some stupid jealous Mary Sue...and I LOVE Magnus! That could've been such an awesome relationship. WHY? WHY ruin it!?! Enjoy it. It sounds like Bella and though I love Twilight, I often wanted to throttle her. (hide spoiler)]

So this is not a book I typically read. I usually steer away from vampires, etc. But I have to say I kind of like it so far. Things happened early enough to keep my attention.

Clary: (view spoiler)[OK WHY can she see Jace and the others? Clearly she's visible to other people..or rather mundanes, but how can she see demons and shadow hunters!? And WHAT happened to her mother!! Who found her? And I'm taking a shot in the dark here, but her father may be a shadow hunter or something of the like?? Because clearly the mother and her brother, Luke, know something that Clary doesn't know. (hide spoiler)]

I've finally started, I'm up to chapter 6. (view spoiler)[ I adore Simon. His almost-declaration of love to Clary was adorable, but also heartbreaking. How dare she just run off? Or at least tell him what's going on! Leaving without any warning like that was just mean. I can't decide if I like Jace or not. He seems sarcastic and cool, but then he can be too sarcastic. It can get a bit too much, especially when it's towards a girl who knows nothing about what's going on. I hope he gets better, or Simon joins them at the Institute. (hide spoiler)]

It was his own fault too, but I bet Isabelle didn't warn him too vigorously. I think I quite like Isabelle. She's such a bitch, but in an awesome way. Not like Jace, who's just rude. Yes, I do keep going on about it, but so many people are in love with him, and I can't see why! Magnus though, I get that obsession. He's cute, and fabulous, and I want to be his best friend. I also want him and Alec to fall in love, and Alec to come out to everyone, and they can live happily ever after. I know, wishful thinking... (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 14-19 (view spoiler)[ Wow Jocelyn is clever! Hiding the Cup in the cards was a brilliant idea. I'm so impressed Clary worked it out, there's no way I would've been able to. And that Jocelyn ever thought of it. The romance, despite being a dreaded love triangle, is actually pretty great. I feel so sorry for Simon, it must be awful being in love with someone that likes someone else. Clary and Jace are sort of cute. Alec breaks my heart, he adores Jace (hide spoiler)]
