Im almost done with CoG and then I will start CoFA. Although Im kinda worried because everyone says the 4th one sucks.

I was not impressed. I gave city of glass 5 stars, and then city of fallen angels 3 stars. have to say that I've given up on city of lost souls for the night as i was losing the will to live.

It's really good to see I'm not the only one who has issues with the second trilogy of TMI. She shoud have finished it with City of Glass.

Me neither. It feels like she got stuck writing the SHadowhunter world. The amount of books in that universe is staggering.

I never really got on with it either. I remembered how forgettable that one was.. i forgot nearly everything.

I agree. It's like she's so scared of writing another world, and it failing, that she's staying safely in the success of the TMI world.
I just wish she'd realise, that that success will go sour, if she keeps making different series around it. (I think she's at 6 series for it now?)
People will just get bored of it, and abandon it.
Or, they'll go so bored, they'll start hating it.

I don't have a problem with authors writing more books set in the same world, but they have to be good books. you can't just write trash, set it in the same place, and expect people to like it. if you can't come up with new and exciting ideas, you're flogging a dead horse.

I don't mind authors who write 2-3 series in the same world, but i think 6 is pushing it.
It also feels like now, because she's wrote so much around the TMI world, she hasn't got anything good left for the series that started it all.
Look how boring 4+5 have been..

I need to start wrapping christmas presents later, and i can see that will start looking appealing after a few chapters of this!

This might be a little of topic, but alot of people are comparing this to Harry Potter. Would you guys agree? I like both series personally (although I have not finished the TMI series yet)

I don't think this is like harry potter. no more than any other fantasy series is at least.
