Corinna smiled more "You can't talk?" She asked curiously, she thought about the sign language that her mother taught her 'I know a little sign language' She signed to Sam, giggling lightly.
'Oh thank god I thought I was going to die, and know I can't talk I got my tounge cut out.' Sam signed back happy she could actually "talk" to someone.
Corinna watched carefully 'That's sad' She frowned slightly.
'It is I miss being able to talk and sing, cry or have a joyous shout or just say hello.' Sam signed holding back tears.
Corinna hugged Sam, not saying anything. She couldn't imagine not being able to talk.
Sam looked at the girl gratefully and signed. 'It's a hard thing to deal with most people just assume I'm being rude and turn away some just call me freak laugh and push me down.'
Corinna frowned 'Thats not nice to do' She signed back, she thought about the kids in her neighbour hood picking on her for being a Neko. 'Kids called me a freak cause I have kitty ears' Corinna continued.
'Well all you can do is ignore them that's what I do it really gets them mad.' Sam said with a small smile.
Corinna nodded "I like you" She said speaking out loud.
'Good someone has to.' She signed with small laugh which came out as a sound that sounded like a rusty knife dragging across steel. 'Sorry that was supposed to be a laugh.'
Corinna winced slightly, the laugh hurting her sensitive ears. 'Its okay' She smiled.
'That's the worst of it all I can't laugh it's as if god himself forbids me from expressing emotion.' She signed.
'Even if you can laugh I still think you pretty' She signed.
Sam smiled. 'Thank you, I geuss I'm compensating.'
Corinna frowned, not knowing the word compensating. 'I don't know that word' She signed.
'It means to make up for something.' Sam explained to her.
Corinna nodded, now understanding 'Okay thank you' She replied, happy to know she learned something new.
'Your welcome.' She signed with a warm smile.
Anika looked at the clock on the wall "Sam classes just started up again what do you have?" She asked
I have sky horrors next. she wrote.

"Hi what are you doing here?" She asked smiling he was a little cute Anika picked him up and took him over to a table and sat him on it.
Sam looked at the child with interest but stayed where she was.

"What's your name sweetie?" She asked "I'm Anika" she said with a smile

"Well hello Toby I would never have guessed that you were ten" she said "this is Sam she can't talk"

Johnny rolled over in his sleep.
"No it's mean to laugh at people" she said telling him off "her tongue cut out" she explained

Sam sighed and looked at him with caring eyes and hugged him back.
Anika looked up at Sam to see her reaction

Toby looked up at them, looking a bit sad.
Johnny slowly sat up, and rubbed his eyes.
Anika smiled and Toby
"Hi finally awake" she laughed softly "come here and met Toby"

Toby became frightened of Johnny and hid behind Anika. He was shaking.
Anika smiled in amusement "you have no need to be scared of Johnny you should be more scared of me than him not that I would hurt you" she said ruffling Toby's hair

"But I can also be mean to people when I am upset or angry." She said

Toby reached up, to Anika, to be picked up.
Anika picked him up "oww Johnny careful" she said

Johnny looked up at her and pressed harder on her foot.
"Johnny stop now I know the first time was an accident but now you are doing it on purpose so stop it" she growled at him
Sam silently observed the exchange. Lost in her own world.

Toby yawned even bigger.

"Go to sleep Toby I need to talk to Johnny" she said putting him down in a chair.
Anika walked over to Johnny and crouched down in front of him "why did you do that?" She asked him.
