G'day, Hi or Hola - I'm originally from Australia, lived in the UK, (me mum was a Yorkshire lass) and now I'm in Spain. Just to get the ball rolling, I'm donating £1 from the purchase of my book, Happy Juice, towards the charity Women's Aid.
A play about discovering what is important in life. A travelling gypsy offers an elixir, which gives complete happiness to the person who drinks it. The catch, however, is the price: you have to give up what is most important to you.
Review by Kella Campbell: It was a different experience to read a stage script, but I enjoyed it. Also, it was so much more than I was expecting from the book blurb! I thought it would be mostly about what people might sacrifice to be "happy", but really it gets pretty deeply into issues of prejudice and friendship and greed and abuse. From the description on Amazon, I wasn't sure that I'd like it, but I totally did.
This book supports the work of Women's Aid, helping to protect women and children in the UK from abuse. Part of the story touches on the subject of abuse and I'll donate £1 from every book purchased until the end of 2013. Your help is appreciated.
