Hi everyone! A problem I have had with my novels since I started writing them are HUGE GAPS BETWEEN WORDS when I justify my text. A lot of online printers require your text to be justified. So how do we get around this?
I found this on the internet today. Now, I will say it didn't fully correct the problem. I still see a little extra space in various places throughout my document, but it really did help to improve it. I used the settings from this post: The default Justification setting in Word has always been poor because it will only expand gaps to fit the line.
However, on most versions since at least Word 97, you can go into Word options and change this behaviour. In Word 2010, go to Word Options> Advanced tab, scroll down to the bottom of the dialog and select Layout Options. Check the option 'Do full justification the way WordPerfect 6.x for windows does'.
Now Justification is able to both shrink and expand inter-word spacing to make justification acceptable. You may also find that with some fonts, reducing the character spacing (Format> Font> Advanced tab) by 0.1 point will make it work even better. tf

I see the gaps all the time when reading ebooks, but not so much in paperbacks.
Hope this helps!
If anyone has anymore information on this and knows a better solution, please post it here.
