Elaine | 2001 comments I've recently read two on the list....does that count Brenda? Lol!! I also have Lexicon at home and can borrow Mallee Sky from my Mum but of course the one I really want to read is The Young Lion!!! Which means I'll probably have to buy it as it's on order at the library and already has 3 reserves on it.

There are a lot I've read, but also a lot I WANT to read too! A great list I think:)

message 107: by Kadi (new)

Kadi (kads) | 99 comments Ok I've got 3 I will attempt (I might actually end up buying them rather than wait for the library).
Planet Elephant by Tammie Matson
Watching You (Joseph O'Loughlin, #7) by Michael Robotham Blood Secret by Jaye Ford

Andrea | 2173 comments Narrowing down my choices to Burial Rites by Hannah Kent Burial Rites or On the Trail of Genghis Khan An Epic Journey Through the Land of the Nomads by Tim Cope On the Trail of Genghis Khan: An Epic Journey Through the Land of the Nomads from this year's list, or Five Bells by Gail Jones Five Bells or Caleb's Crossing by Geraldine Brooks Caleb's Crossing from previous years. Or some combination of the above! Better get cracking!

Jenn (jumpapa) | 806 comments So many interesting books. I have picked 12 that I think I might enjoy. I think the challenge will be picking just one :)

message 112: by Heather (new)

Heather | 388 comments Quite a few of these are going on my "To be read list"
Also I notice that some of these are yet to be published so they also are contenders for Item 4 for the Spring Challenge

Yes I was joking Brenda. It doesn't really come across does it? My "I'm guessing that's a no then" was meant to be facetious!!! I'm more than happy to read something I've not read before.

Haha!!! Oh dear, lol! I thought you would yes. Me too. There are so many I want to read, and I won't be able to in September, with the Spring and Annual one too!

I've just reserved Mallee Sky at my library too:)

message 117: by Amber (new)

Amber (ukaunz) I'm reading The Night Guest: A Novel and The Rosie Project for my Spring Challenge, so that takes care of my September challenge :-) There are a few more on my TBR, but any of those would be a bonus if I manage to fit them in!

message 118: by Chris (new)

Chris | 240 comments I'm going to read Tomorrow, When the War Began (Tomorrow, #1) by John Marsden for the September Challenge. I have been meaning to read it for about 10 years now. ;-)

Don't know much about that author or book. Is it meant to be good? Mum asked me to buy it for her the other day. Might give it a go then.

She's an Aussie author and it sounds good...that's all I'm going on. I hope it's good, but borrowing is safest when I don't know the author;)

That's a fair call. I'm the same. If I happen to borrow a book and then really like it then I may buy it and make my husband read it!!! He calls me "the book Nazi"...not meaning any offense to anyone.

Although it was a very quick read for me, I wouldn't say it was un-put-down-able. Nice though. Three stars. Now I'm starting on Five Bells by Gail Jones from an older list.

message 148: by Joanne (new)

Joanne (shuangs) | 128 comments Before the the September Challenge from getreading published, i've read Cairo by Chris Womersley, Man Drought by Rachael Johns, The Lavender Keeper by Fiona McIntosh, and The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. All of these book i will consider as average read with the exception of Rosie Project and Cairo which will be my recommendation to others.
I've tried to read Questions of Travel by Michelle de Kretser in Augost. In fact, i've attempt to read it for at least 5 times. Unfortunately, i can't seems to pass the first 20 pages of the book. Maybe one day, one day in the future i will consider reading it again.

For this challenge, i'm planning to read
Everything to Live For by Turia Pitt
Watching You by Michael Robotham
and Three Hours Late by Nicole Trope.

I'll also consider
Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
The Shadow Year by Hannah Richell
Left For Dead by Barlo and Williams
Blood Secret by Jaye Ford
A Bitter Taste by Annie Hauxwell

Joanne, would you be able to edit your post and link your books please? We always try to do it, so the rest of us can click on your link to see what you're going to read, and get some help/suggestions for ourselves:) Thanks so much...

If you're not sure how - in this box, top right hand side you will see "add book/author" - click on that, type in your title or ISBN, hit search, then "add" when the correct book comes up:) Thanks again:)

Joanne (shuangs) | 128 comments Sure Branda, i shall. Thanks very much. I was trying to do it, but didn't really know how unless i go thru books for each link. Your help i very much appreciated. :)
