Just want to recommend Dan Barry's account of the longest professional baseball game. Excellent story about the people involved in the game. The book is more about the people than the game itself. I had forgotten or never realized that future Hall of Famers Wade Boggs and Cal Ripken were participants in this game. Several future major leaguers also played on the Rochester and Pawtucket teams. Great read and highly recommended.
