Hello Joyce, you found your way in! We take tea at the kitchen sink. Come on through the entrance hall, put your gear over there on the bench. Here you go!
M wrote: "Hi, Joyce! I down here cleaning out the drain I stopped up. Welcome to L&G."I didn't know we had a sink in the front entrance! And what were you doing stopping it up?
Joyce never mind those two ,they will be at it for a little while. You just come on into the kitchen.
Hi! I'm Laurie. My friends give me a hard time because I'm such a stickler for spelling mistakes. I can spot them ANYWHERE and have been known to let restaurants know when they've made on on their menus. Looking forward to posting more in here :)
Hi, Laurie! Welcome to L&G. It's always a thrill to meet someone who can spell. I think I met someone like that years ago . . .
Welcome Laurie! My daughter even corrects her friends on facebook! By the way, did you mean 'when they've made one?' :)
Try being a teacher with a spelling fetish.....I crossed out 'bellinis' on the menu at our staff dinner and wrote 'blinis' in above it......
hello everyone, I'm Julie. I'm from the Philippines and we use English as our second language here. So, I want to be good at it because I am planning to write something one day also I am quite conscious of the comments/post I put here in GR hoping to be fluent of the language :) Hope to learn a lot in this group :)
Jan wrote: "Welcome Laurie! My daughter even corrects her friends on facebook! By the way, did you mean 'when they've made one?' :)"Oh! You caught me in a typo - in a post about typos! How embarrassing ;) My quick typing fingers sometimes get the better of me!
Don't worry, Laurie. We all "typo" here (and make up verbs, too).
Hi, Julie. Welcome to our group.

Don't worry, Laurie, almost everytime you see that my messages have been edited, it's because I've spotted a typo...and I use spellcheck as well.
Welcome Julie. Hope we'll see you around, popping in and asking questions, playing the games and having a chat on the Kitchen Sink thread.
Hi Julie and all the other newbies I missed recently.....am now on holiday so can have a life for a few weeks....I'm baaaaaaaaack!!
Welcome to Natty, our 1100th member. Sorry Natty, no party....I am too busy, but I will sip an eggnog in your honour.....
Benvenuti Virginia !!!... questo è un gruppo vario e divertente pazzo!Ho controllato il tuo blog e il cibo sembra deliziosa! ... ma non riuscivo a trovare le ricette?
Sono da qualche parte sul blog?

V -- I can't figure out what that profile pic of yours depicts. Something furry, yes. Is it... a hedgehog, maybe?

Very nice picture, Virginia!
Hi!I never attended a grammar class in my life without poking fun at my teachers and being expelled, so here I come for repentance! I'm located in India, and I need to bugger people with questions about word origins and abused placement, literary techniques that I'm sure I will never do anything productive with, and to go "W0W" as one does with these fickle letters dancing around.
Hope to see everyone around!
Welcome, Aishwarya. You can poke fun at teachers here if you want. No one takes himself or herself too seriously, in other words.
Where? Poughkeepsie, NY, of course (where nothing is serious, least of all the name of the city).
I'd always planned to make a safari to Poughkeepsie, to see if I could get a glimpse of that rare species, the Vassar girl.
Welcome Aishwarya!
I like your sense of humour already! By the way, do you mean that you like to BUG people......? I hope so......

I love India, visited several times Bombay (at those times) then Mumbai end New Delhi..."
Thanks Virginia. I'm a hundred or so miles from New Delhi, stuck in a nook between civilization and industrialization. It's alright, as an afterthought, because this middle-class tragedy has given rise to some great literature. ;)
