Introductions and Welcomes
I love Mandy Patinkin. I saw him in the stage production of Evita . He was soooo sexy and still is in my book.
I'll have to let you down (gently, of course) on all counts, my ladies. I neither resemble the gentleman in question nor is the calling card above an adequate substitute (but I thank you movie star Savvy Suz, for immediately taking up the search) for my URL. It's disappeared into GR-glitches never-never land. All really just a storm in a teacup, but I feel....undressed without it!
Dang! After that fencing scene atop The Cliffs of Insanity, I've been enraptured by witty Spanish Swordsmen!
Dread Pirate Roberts wasn't too bad either with the fancy footwork and sword play. Where oh where have our new members gone ,they won't come out and play.
Did we cut their ears to short and there tails too long I wonder. (sigh).
Please don't take offense at the silly bantering we are seriously a staid community of Language & Grammar. I have learned a tremendous amount of skills from these good folks.
Savvy SUZ!! (alias Modesty Blaise) (alias famous Hollywood celebrity) you found my picture. And displayed it in public? How could you? (Bounds off dusty stone slabs, pirouettes into a black cape, leaps onto gleaming stallion and disappears! Minus personal URL.)(you see, we are. Exactly as Kitty says. Staid, that is.)

WOW! NE, this is amazing. I think I've actually seen you around town. Do you ever venture into downtown Andover?
GN: Did I miss you? I still see the stormy teacup.
Kitty: It's really nice to see the real you. I love having a face for a name. It's so much more personal.
Brenda! Welcome back. There was a minor metaphoses (see msg 2319/2321/2329). I'm still here as cracked as ever, and missing my name tag! A storm in a teacup. Much ado about nothing.
GN: Thanks for the identity disclosure. Although the curiousity level has been compounded ten fold, a modicum of frustration has also been disippated. I responded more fully on your "On the issue of identity" thread.
Thank you, Brenda. I'm glad to hear that I've allayed your frustration somewhat. You'll find my answer here.Speaking of disclosure, would you not consider sharing some of your writing with us, please?
Welcome to L&G, Rollie, and thank you for introducing yourself. Please tell us more about yourself here. Please also look around at members' discussions in their own threads entitled Streams of Consciousness.Various discussions of both a frivolous and literary nature can be found within The L&G Kitchen Party. If you prefer something more edifying, do browse our Grammar Central for expert advice and opinion on syntax topics. Our Word Games include some of the most scintillating in GoodReads.
Enjoy.

I hope some of our older (as in time on L&G, not years) members have not been feeling left out....I see you 'lurking' Harvey and Richard and Tyler, from time to time). I know it has seemed more like a social networking site lately, but there are still quality discussions happening. Please join in again....I miss you.
Thanks Kitty....it would be helpful if everyone remembered to keep the 'chat' in the Kitchen thread and the Streams of Consciousness.....and stick to the topic in the other threads?
Ruth, I just figured out that you're now a moderator. I just recently figured out that you're not someone new but have changed your profile picture. They couldn't have picked a better moderator! Congratulations.
thank you for giving me an encouraging welcome..and a big apology for my disappearing act..i should perhaps explain a little but for that i know i need to go to the kitchen sink...
Nah... explanations go nicely with introductions, which means you can go on here if you don't want to brave the kitchen.
Is someone feeling sorry for herself/himself?
No double standards here, GN. Though it's not an exact science, if it goes on and on (and on), it doesn't matter what the initials are. We like you as much as the next person. Feel better?

What does it mean? "Rolling on the floor laughing at T&C's. See you at the Kitchen Sink"?
What are T&C's?
What are T&C's?

Who cares? Isn't this a forum about interesting use of language?

I think T&C is an acronynm for Terms & Conditions
It also means Technology & Communication
That was my thought, too, Ruth. We share such delightfully similar perspectives.Although for sheer breadth of imagination, I believe Savvy sums it up perfectly. And Kitty has just the right amount of facial tension.
(please pardon me while I skedaddle. That sounds as though a rather large lorry has just drawn up to collect what-nots and hand-me-downs intended for an as-yet-unknown destination).
Yes, new people, believe it or not, this is the introductions thread. Please feel free to jump in and introduce yourself here at any time.
Oh settle down you lot! If you are genuinely new to L&G, please introduce yourselves here. If you are an oldie in a frisky mood, take it to the Kitchen Sink.....'Teach' hath spoken......
I can't remember the last time I was frisky in the kitchen sink! Ah, when I was twenty-one, it was a very good year . . .
Hey I'm Joyce and I wrote uhhm short stories and posted it on my profile and one of my friend who proof read my story, suggest this group to me, so I'm here because of her. So hi everyone *waves*
