Jan (auntyjan) | 1259 comments Debbie it was nice in the house with the sun streaming in through the window, but I have to be honest it was very cold when I went for a walk outside, so I've written another poem:

There was a cold South wind blowing when I went out today
You always know its cold when the birds hide away
Although the sun was shining and the clouds had blown away
There was a cold, cold,South wind blowing from Antarctica today.

Jan (auntyjan) | 1259 comments Just wondering, does "Willy" mean the same in American slang as it does in Aussie slang? New, you said Willy being free and all and I couldn't help thinking...I hope he's not still on that roof that I read about on another L&G thread...

Free Willy is a movie about helping an orca whale (I think it is) escape from a sea aquarium to the open sea.

In Australia, it's a cult film. Oh. It's also one of Bill Clinton's cult favorites.

message 1606: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 530 comments But of course.

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Yup,I guess so.

message 1609: by Jan (new)

Jan (auntyjan) | 1259 comments This information is not new. Obviously Kiwis comprehend the double entendre. Morning Debbie!

You'll find her at the head of the class -- which used to be the name of a board game.

message 1612: by Jan (new)

Jan (auntyjan) | 1259 comments Bored with this game? Never!

message 1613: by Ken, Moderator (new)

Ken | 18714 comments Mod
Ha. We've discussed at length the Bored of Education.

message 1614: by Jan (new)

Jan (auntyjan) | 1259 comments Take Deb out of bored and you've got an alternative.

message 1615: by Carol (new)

Carol | 10410 comments Take her or leave her huh. Never!

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Newengland wrote: "You'll find her at the head of the class -- which used to be the name of a board game."

Also the name of a show with Howard Hessman who also was on WKRP in Cincinnati. Good show.

message 1617: by Ken, Moderator (new)

Ken | 18714 comments Mod
Oh, yeah. I might recall that (or not... I'm pretty dim on all things TV).

message 1618: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) it wasn't that spectacular of a show. WKRP was though.

message 1619: by ]-[olden (new)

]-[olden (holden_) | 1 comments Is an introduction really necessary?

message 1620: by Julian (new)

Julian Moreno (emmieloowhoo) Hullo. I am new. I love words, grammar, languages, etc.

message 1621: by Carol (new)

Carol | 10410 comments Welcome Emmie to the far side.

Benjamin I suppose you don't have to introduce yourself, so welcome to Benjamin whose introduction is really not necessary.

message 1622: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I never introduced myself either, I jumped right in, I guess no formalities are required here.

message 1623: by Carol (new)

Carol | 10410 comments Helloooooooo Robin. Happy landings.

Introductions are nice, but not required. Sometimes your participation speaks for itself, and we get to know you anyway. Then there's always those fool profiles where we get to show off our creativity.

For instance, Ben (but not Franklin) is still in high school at age 32. That's cool. And he's a fantasy fan. Down with that. And a runner. REALLY have to admire that (I'm anticipating my weekly 10-mile trail run tomorrow after missing it for a couple of weeks due to a funeral and such truck).

Hello Emmie! Your profile is even more revealing. I love privacy. I loathe Google and Facebook and all those things that rack up the private information for safe (theirs and _______'s?) keeping.

And hello again, Robin. 'Bout time you came bobbin' along here (I trust you remember Dino Martin with the martini glass forever in his hand).

And hey there, Kitty. Let us know more about yoursel... oh. It's you. Veteran with a capital "V." Thanks for womanning the Welcome Wagon!

message 1625: by Carol (new)

Carol | 10410 comments Welcome NE. Debs are we getting close to a party?

message 1626: by Robin (last edited Sep 04, 2010 01:10PM) (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Thanks, Kitty, Meow. I think I did come down back to earth after I said Goodnight and it was a Goodnight. I did get some shut eye. And New, can I call you that I do remember Dean Martin with his martini glass singing that song, please don't start with Rockin' Robin, I hated that song growing up, even MJ version.

message 1627: by Carol (new)

Carol | 10410 comments "Oh Carol" hated that song still do.

message 1628: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Yes, I wish songwriters wouldn't use peoples names in their songs, esp. Rosanna, that one is like a wormhole in my brain.

message 1629: by Carol (new)

Carol | 10410 comments I thought Robins liked worms?LOL

....we are up to 945.....my estimate of 'by Christmas' may need revising at this rate.....could be just a matter of weeks rather than months! Bags NOT blow up the balloons!

message 1632: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Carol (Kitty) wrote: "I thought Robins liked worms?LOL"

Yes, I believe they do, but I don't like Rosanna the song either, I was just nodding in agreement, or commiserating what have you.

message 1633: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) And Debbie hi to you to, you overlooked me. I am merely standing in the corner, out of everyone's way.

message 1636: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Yes I have. Just wanted to be included. No harm intended.

message 1637: by Carol (new)

Carol | 10410 comments No harm done we are being silly. This is comedy central Robin , every now and again we throw in something serious. LOL

message 1638: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I know,my thin skin is showing. I have not been on something like this before, I used to just take the trivia and quizzes and I just discovered that I can get invited into the various groups. Thanks for making me feel welcome.
