You really love it, don't you Anna?

message 1102: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) Can you tell?

In another story, I created a slightly different race. Human by all appearances but different. Once again, different rules. So much fun.

message 1103: by [deleted user] (new)

They sound like a few of my neighbours!

message 1104: by Carol (new)

I can't see you

message 1109: by [deleted user] (new)

Anna? just thinkin how come you can't use photobucket?

message 1110: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) It's just something I have chosen not to do. I prefer to decide who to send my pictures to. I've looked at a lot of pictures there and I find the fact that I can make rather free with them a little unsettling.

message 1111: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) hi...I'm Leonor, I'm portuguese and almost 13...I want to improve my grammar and to speak english better...you know...that kind of things

message 1112: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) by the way...can someone tell me how does this group work?

message 1113: by Ken, Moderator (new)

Ken | 18714 comments Mod
Hi Leonor. Welcome to our group. You've already made this group "work" by posting. That's all. Ask questions, make observations, talk to people, be friendly. That's all it takes! Do you live in Portugal itself?

message 1114: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) yup, why?

Just wondering if you were from the Azores or Canary Islands or something. (One of my ancestors hailed from the Azores!)

Carol | 10410 comments Happy posting Leonor

message 1119: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) ah...(I thod that in the Canary Islands people speak spanish)no,I was born in Braga, in the north but I live in lisbon.

Right you are, Leonor. The Canaries are Spanish and the Azores are Portuguese (for those of you keeping score out there).

Anyway, I only have a few exotic ancestors and that's only because a few of my forefathers worked on whaling ships out of New Bedford, Massachusetts. One married a Wampanoag Indian from Aquinnah, Martha's Vineyard, and another married a native of the Azores. Thus, my penchant for tanning easily in the summer.

The only exotic ancestors I have were horse thieves and moonshiners in Kentucky . There were a few Cherokee throw in though.

Ooh!!! NE!!! Who is our new group pic?? Introduce please? (Musta been you....it wasn't me!)

message 1127: by Carol (new)

Carol | 10410 comments Is it someone we should know, or just a random picture.

message 1128: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) Oh no. Is this a masquerade? I thought I was talking to Paul Newman undercover.

message 1129: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) Sorry, Leonor, welcome to the chaos. I hope you have fun here.

message 1130: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) I'm used to The Chaos.my room is a great example of it...

message 1131: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) And yet I bet you know exactly where most anything is.

message 1132: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) yes but try to tell that to my mom...

message 1133: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) I so remember. A hundred years ago, going through the same thing. Mom would clean my room and I couldn't find things for weeks. I'll tell her for you if you like. I've long since grown out of being afraid to say anything to anyone - I just try my hardest to be diplomatic. I don't know - at 13, perhaps you could negotiate a private space. Your room is your room, keep out. Of course, you'd have to compromise somewhat. Be responsible for your own laundry or some such.

message 1134: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) That's probably very true.

message 1135: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) I have several boxes that fall into that category. I really hate digging into the back of my closet.

message 1136: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) ;)

message 1137: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) ...

message 1138: by Anna (last edited Sep 21, 2009 12:30PM) (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) Sorry about that Leonor. Us old fogies left you in the dust? Jump right on in. There's room for you too. ;)

If you don't, I'll accuse you of being shy.

message 1139: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) You can't tell me there's no archeology in your closet.

message 1140: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) hmmm...I could deny but I'd be lying...unless that the closet itself could count as archeology

message 1141: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) Of course it does. So what deep dark secrets lurk in your closet?

message 1142: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) none, at least that I know but its very old, very ornamented

message 1143: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) It sounds like it might be a free-standing clothes cupboard - is it?

We interrupt this discussion about moms (Hi, Mom!) to answer Deb's question. The new pic is some famous painting of a dude reading. Hope that helps...
