Hi, I'm Monica. I have two novels out: a dark, historical fantasy titled Famine, and a post-apocalyptic/space opera novel titled Girl Under Glass. I was recently invited to check out your group, so I hope you don't mind party crashers. :)

Bisky wrote: "Hi Monica :] They both sound like stories right up my street ^.^ welcome aboard."Thanks, Bisky! Happy to be here. :D
Hello all. I haven't been around here too much because I've been super busy. Getting my first (ever) book completed and/or published. It was a long road for me since even though I'd worked and worked and worked some more on the story I kept procrastinating, saying it's not ready. When the truth was, I was scared of sending it out and such. But I've finally done it! I've finally got the courage and sent my story out. And guess what?
It's been published. I kinda feel proud of that since it's my first one and my first milestone. *sighs*
Anyway I'll be posting here more often though. Hope you all don't mind it?
Hey Dionne! Welcome aboard and congratulations on your newly published book. We wish you loads and loads of sales. :)
And of course post away. :) We will be happy to have more of your posts.

Hey all long time no chat, I hope everyone is keeping well. Dionne congratulations :D
Well I've been absent because I've been sorting out more editing and now have finally signed a book contract for my first novel *yeay* so now the serious work gets started before it'll be ready to be published. I'm also writing the second book in the series too. Busy and exciting times :D *waving and bouncing like a looney*
Awesome! Congratulations on the contract April! I bet you'll get a lot of envious stare from all of us. :)
Wow April. Congratulations!! I hope you always feel as excited even when you're editing for the 1000th time.
Thanks Claire and G.G. I know I will. I had a lot of rejections and I've kept all of them as a learning curve. It just goes to prove never give up on your dreams, as someone will see the potential in what we as authors create. It's the most amazing feeling ever I think. Both scary and exciting at the same time :D
Thanks Bisky. I've mainly been popping onto Goodreads to post reviews on books and now and again interviews I've done with authors (I've been interviewing them) its been fun but flying visits. Hope your keeping well :D
Hi there! I have stalked Bisky from Twitter to this place so I thought I'd say hi. My name is Emma and I'm currently working on the final edits of my first novella.
It's called "Going Home". I named it for a Leonard Cohen song, because the title seemed to just match the theme of the novel quite well (and because I love Cohen).
Finding a title that suits is fabulous, especially when they suit the book so completely. Keep us updated on your progress. Are you going traditional publishing or Indie? If traditional your best bet is to do research on who to send your novel too, as a lot of places have stipulations etc. :D
Hi I'm Addie! I run a poetry blog and am writing a teen novel called "Love Drugs and Really big Vocabulary words...."
Hi, I'm Marina. I'm currently writing the third book of short stories in my 'Death by Murder' series. Also have a novel I've been working on for years - time to get it finished!
Hi all, new to this group, and just posted on another topic (book covers) before seeing this!I'm a proofreader and copy editor, and have just published my first non-fiction book. It's been a steep learning curve, but now I'm ready for the next one!
Hi Elizabeth, congratulations on the publication of your book, and best of luck with your new project :D
Hi all,Joined the group some time back but after NaNoWriMo life has been a whirlwind so I never got a chance to join in and be all social like.
I've been working on my dark urban fantasy novel "Ward of the south" since Nov, few months ago took on the role of stay at home dad too while wifey went back to work so yeah. Finished the novel just the other day and looking forward to what comes next, beta readers, marketing plan, more time for getting back to some short stories and flash fiction writing, reading, etc.
So yeah. Here I am :)
Cheers,
Jim.
Hey Jim and welcome, you're heading into exciting times and congratulations on finishing your novel :D
April wrote: "Hey Jim and welcome, you're heading into exciting times and congratulations on finishing your novel :D"Thanks April. So they say but from all the research and stuff I have done the journey is only half over. Lots of elbow grease still required.
There definitely is, no ifs ands or buts about it. The completing of the story is only the first part of it. Now so to speak the hard work comes into it. But it is still exciting :D
Hi Jim, welcome aboard :] Congrats on finishing your novel :3
