Hey, cheers for the invitation; I'm fairly new to GoodReads and so didn't even know these places existed! :)I'm currently trying to edit my literary fiction novel called That Which is Left is Lost (which I began in 2011) and hoping to complete the writing of its sequel, That Which is Found (started in 2013).
In the meantime I'm also entering short story competitions to practice my skills!
Looking forward to interacting with others (when I should be editing/writing)!
Take Care, Cat x
Hey Cat and Dianne welcome to the wonderful Bisky's Introductions. We are rather a chatty bunch who like to help where and as we can even just as moral support. All in the same boat makes an interesting journey :D
Hi Dianne welcome aboard, I love historical fiction that has a personal touch!
Hello and welcome Cat good luck with the competition! :3

Thanks guys :)Am just getting oriented with GoodReads...didn't realise there was such a social element to it! Will look forward to chatting via the topic boards and getting to know everyone. :)
Hello, and thanks for the invite. I'm T. C. Filburn, and I write stuff - well, at least, I have two stuffs written so far! I like scifi, fantasy, horror, humour, and anything that involves playing with words and language.
I didn't either for a while ^-^ I tried to join some groups but I couldn't get anyone to talk to me so I made my own :p Hope you enjoy your stay Cat :3
Hello T.C! Welcome aboard! I look forward to learning all about your stuffs :3

@Bisky - I love that you made your own group because people in others wouldn't talk to you! Great stuff. Now look at your group go...am v pleased you invited me along. :)
Hello T.C. and welcome to the group. I have to say that I like your kind of stuff. I'm also a fan of scifi, fantasy, and horror, and it's even better when sprinkled with humour. :p
Bisky wrote: "I tried to join some groups but I couldn't get anyone to talk to me so I made my own"As good a reason as any for making a group, and probably better than some!
G.G. wrote: "I'm also a fan of scifi, fantasy, and horror, and it's even better when sprinkled with humour."I agree. Just been watching 'Cockneys vs Zombies' - awesome film.
Hello all! 1st of all, Bisky, thanks for the invite! *hugs*I am a poet and writer from Serbia with currently 3 published poetry books. At the moment, I am working on 4th poetry collection and very first novel.
G.G. wrote: "@T.C. I have to admit I've never seen that movie."
Well worth watching - ranks up there with Shaun of the Dead, Dead Snow and Wasting Away, I reckon. Another recent (and relatively lesser known) comedy horror to check out, if you haven't seen it, is 'Stitches' (starring Ross Noble) - great film.
Hello, I am Roy. I have not written anything but would like to write Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Mysteries. You know if the job, life, and the wife permit.
@Shaun wow... it seems I must have been living under a rock as I don't recognize any of these names. /blush
@Roy Hello and welcome aboard!
@Roy Hello and welcome aboard!
Hello Roy. Welcome. I read and write Sci-Fi/Fantasy. I'm always interested in meeting new writers, especially in my genre. I wouldn't mind seeing what you got.
Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm an erotica author, with a few stories already for sale and I'm trying to write more stories as well. I've been a member of this group for a while, but I haven't posted much if at all and I wanted a proper introduction. My goal for 2014 is to be more active in writing groups and I from what I've seen there's a lot of talented writers here so how could I not join in the discussion? Thanks
Ahh Erotica from a man's point of view? Interesting! :p I've seen a few discussion groups where they (women) say that they'd loved to read one of these...
Welcome aboard John :)
Welcome aboard John :)
Thanks, GG. I'm pretty proud of what I do with the genre and I hope to get others excited with my take on it.
*stands up*Uh, hi. My name is Paul, and I'm a bookaholic. I suppose my story is a common one; I was first introduced to reading by a 'friend', who lent me my first book for free. Once I was hooked he cut off my supply, telling me that he only had so many books and that I should chill out. I moved onto the harder stuff - hardbacks, trilogies, sagas - but I'll save you the sob story.
I've currently finished the 1st draft of my novel, and although I've struggled with motivation I'm hoping to get it finished in the first half of 2014. It's a comedy fantasy.
Hello John, your resolution sounds awesome. Chat up all the authors! :3
Hello P, welcome to the group and thank you for sharing. There is no judgement here.... Well, maybe alittle...

Hello and welcome aboard P. If we were honest with ourselves, I believe most of us would acknowledge our addiction too, so you'll fit right in!
Hey P I have also been told I have to many books as if I could possibly have to many when there is so many more out in the world to explore. It's wonderful how many different varieties of authors are joining this wonderful group. We will definitly all have more reading material to explore.
Nice to meet. You T.C, Roy, John and P
Thanks for the warm welcome Bisky and April. Seems like it's a fun little corner of the world wide web. :)
Oh it is and you meet such wonderful people as well. Glad you decided to join us and looking forward to finding out more about your books :D
I suppose I should have stopped by this thread sooner, but I only just found out about.I joined the group after seeing one of Bisky's Tweets about it, and I've been a member of Goodreads for a while. I was a bit intimidated to get involved on this site at first, but this seems like a really good group of people.
About me: After a long hiatus I have gotten back to writing. What started off a as a lark one day, has ignited into a consuming passion. Currently, I'm writing a serialized horror thriller on Wattpad and I'm editing a sci-fi novel that I plan on self-publishing later on this year. I don't really have a specific genre, I just try and release the stories from the prison of my skull.
I'm very happy to be a part of this group, and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better.
Welcome to the group David.
I might be bias, but I agree with you: This is the BEST group and the EASIEST one to start actively 'Goodreads'ing' (Is that a word???).
I love scifi by the way, (and horror too!).

Thanks for the welcome @G.G.Ha! Yes that "s" on the end makes Goodreads a little harder to turn into a verb than other web services, but I think it's allowable :)
The that made me happy G.G :p youre allowed to be bias :3
Welcome, welcome David. Good luck with the editing! I'm thinking about starting a serial on Wattpad, how do you find the site/community there? :3

Nice to meet you David and welcome to the wonderful world of Bisky's fabulous Introductions. As G.G. said this is the best group for meeting wonderful new authors of all genres who adore reading. Looking forward to finding out more about your novels best of luck :D
@April, it's very nice to meet you too! Thank you!And thank you @Bisky! I always look forward to your Tweets throughout the day.
I have had a great experience with Wattpad. It was really the first time I had people who weren't friends or family reading my work and I was expecting some harsh criticism. Instead, I received lots of support and very constructive pointers to improve my writing. I have grown a lot since I first started posting there. The site is not for everyone, however, and I think some people get frustrated by the majority of the users being teenagers interested in boy bands. But there are some serious readers and writers there, if you look for them. I do find that you get out of it, what you put into it (I guess a lot of things in life are like that). There are some very good authors with only a handful of reads, because they keep to themselves instead of getting involved.
If you have any questions I will be very happy to try and answer them.
David,I know you can't copy/paste on Wattpad - but don't you worry about plagarism? I'm probably too paranoid. :)
Debbie
@Debbie,One of the reasons I went with Wattpad was that they do try and protect your copyright. When you post on the site, you have an option to say it is an original work owned by you, and they log the text and the date into their database. Should you ever need to, you get the data from them and use it as proof of ownership. This still doesn't prevent a determined person from copying your work, but if you're posting on the web it's about the best you can do.
Also, I have heard of some shared writing sites where getting your work copied and put up under another writer's name is common. I won't say that it doesn't happen on Wattpad, but if it does, it would seem to be very rare.
Hi Bisky and thanks for the invite. I am writing erotic crime, not yet published.
Live in Sweden.
Have a nice day to you and all the members of this group!
Kind regards
Susanne Ahlenius

Hello and welcome aboard Adam! I bet you're lying. Like everyone of us you are a word alcoholic!
EDIT: Or maybe it's called a wordolic?
EDIT: Or maybe it's called a wordolic?
Hi Adam congratulations about your novels and that's excellent news that a publisher is considering one of them.
Hi,I'm Ross and I read mainly Victorian and contemporary fiction and write novels which are the sort of thing I'd like to read. With a family, a dog and a full time job, I write in early mornings and in little windows here and there. This is the first literary forum I've joined since the days of Compuserve in the 90's. I like to talk writing so...
I'm glad you joined my one! I hope you get to talk as much writing as you like here :3 Welcome aboard!
