"So, what do you want?" Jeremiah asked Poppy as a waiter walked over to their table.

"I'll have the same," Jeremiah said. The waiter nodded and strolled away.

"So..." Jeremiah said awkwardly.

Richie walked into the cafe and found a seat when he saw Poppy with someone else. He frowned in jealousy and approached them. "Hey, Poppy."

Jeremiah glanced up. "Oh… you must be the famous Richie."

"Yeah…" Richie said, trailing off. "Who are you?"

[low, Color me crazy...]

"Yeah," Jeremiah said pleasantly.

"Oh, and I suppose he's your new boyfriend," Richie said to Poppy dryly.

[low, Color me crazy...]

Richie snorted. "Right."

Jeremiah stood. "Hey, quit it man! Leave her alone."

Jeremiah looked hurt as he sat back down.

Richie shook his head. "Never mind," he mumbled. He turned to walk out of the cafe.

Jeremiah shook his head and left the cafe from the other door so they wouldn't see him.

Richie was getting wet as it had started raining. He kept walking.

Richie turned around. "What, Poppy?" he said wearily.

Richie studied Poppy for a moment. "You don't need to apologize."

"You should get back to him," Richie grumbled. "He's probably waiting for you."

"Am I?" Richie said flatly.

"Alright," Richie said with a sigh.

Richie turned away from Poppy and pulled up his hood, his hair already wet from the rain.

"Go where?" Richie asked with a raised brow.

Richie shrugged. "Isn't your study partner waiting for you?"

"Fine. Where do you want to go?" Richie asked, glancing at Poppy.

"Let's head back to my place, then. You're drenched," Richie muttered.

Richie opened the front door and let Poppy in.

Richie sat beside Poppy. "Do you want a blanket or something?"

"Alright... It's getting kind of late. Did you, er, want to stay here?" Richie asked.

"Yeah," Richie said. "You can sleep in my room and I'll sleep on the couch."

Richie noticed Poppy move closer to him and took a deep breath. "Poppy, I…"

Richie shook his head. "Uh, nothing. Sorry…"

Richie looked at Poppy and moved closer, kissing her.

Richie moved away from Poppy, a slightly hurt look on his face. "Sorry," he muttered, standing.

"It's nothing," Richie muttered. "You should sleep. You look tired."

"Night," Richie said.

Richie sprawled out on the couch and quickly fell asleep.

Richie was still fast asleep in the living room.

Richie was snoring softly, having a dreamless sleep.

Richie awoke slowly and wondered why he was on the couch. He groaned and sat up.

"Hey," Richie said groggily.

"I'm good," Richie said, glancing at Poppy. "How about you?"

"Surprisingly, huh?" Richie teased, standing. His hair was messy and his clothes were rumpled.

Richie shrugged. "Why do you want to do? You should probably let your parents know where you are..."

Richie smiled a bit. "Here," he said, handing her the landline. "You really should call them."

Richie sat down with a sigh, leaning against the back of the couch. He watched Poppy.

Richie smiled at Poppy's message. He stood and walked into the kitchen, pouring himself a bowl of cereal. "You want some?" he asked her.

Richie nodded and poured Poppy a bowl. He set the two bowls down on the breakfast table and put the milk down too.

Richie nodded. "No problem," he said with a smile.

"Did you sleep well?" Richie asked.

"Eh… it was a bit uncomfortable on the couch but I'll live," Richie teased.

"Don't be," Richie said, chuckling.

Richie looked at Poppy in amusement. "What?"

Richie shook his head. "You're funny."

Richie finished his cereal and put his bowl in the sink. "What are you doing today?"

Richie nodded. "I'm going to go change..." He was still in his white T-shirt and gray sweats.

Richie went upstairs and threw on jeans and a shirt, then went back down. "You look a mess," he teased.
