கிராமத்தான் சரவணன் (graamaththaan) | 4 comments Hi,
The tamil book கி.மு கி.பி has already been added as 'Ki.Mu Ki.Pi' in English transliteration.
Can I change this title to Tamil in which the book has been written?
Like this,
கி.மு கி.பி [Ki.Mu Ki.Pi]...?
Please help.
Thanks in Advance,
கிராமத்தான் [Graamaththaan]

Yes, the above is fine - Tamil followed by the English transliteration in parentheses. (I would use parentheses, not brackets.)

(Technically if a book is entirely in Tamil, it's also fine to have the title only in Tamil. But librarians who don't know Tamil (or any other language) always appreciate it when there is a transliteration.)

Koenraad (koenraadkelemen) | 6989 comments If a transliteration is given, the usual format is to have it in square brackets. I would stick to those, since parentheses are already used to put the name of a series after the title, so it can be somewhat confusing if using it for transliterations to.

கி.மு கி.பி [Ki.Mu Ki.Pi]

So the above format is correct. right?
I can also do it for other similar books. right?
Please confirm...

It gets confusing when a thread linked to a specific book is also used for other books. I am closing this thread. Start new ones for other books.
