Taylor (seffietay) It's Nina!

Taylor (seffietay) I'm about half way through and so far it's pretty interesting. She is very frank in her opinions of the music industry, and definitely doesn't shy away from saying she is superior to other performers. She also describes an incident with her husband to be (I'll try not to spoil anything for those still reading) which I thought was pretty shocking, but then I felt she didn't really let the reader know how she felt about it. At least not enough... if I were in her shoes I would have a LOT to say about what happened. And I probably would have made different decisions following the episode than Nina did. I'm looking forward to see where the story goes as she moves on in her career.

Taylor (seffietay) Also Nina related, I just stumbled across this video (sometimes I fall down an x-factor auditions video hole) and had to share. When Carly Rose says she is singing Nina Simone's Feeling Good the look on Simon's face is priceless! Then the judges ask her if she has rehearsed the song knowing it's a very challenging choice, like they are totally preparing themselves for a horrible audition... but then she NAILS IT. Waaaaatch iiittttt.

Taylor (seffietay) That girl is a great singer. Feeling Good is a hard song! Have any thoughts on the book? :) I liked it and had a lot of feels, mostly covered in my review.

Taylor (seffietay) I totally understand the fuzziness of books read long ago. How did you feel about Nina describing herself as lonely whenever she found herself without a man? Any comments on her relationship with her daughter?
