In honor of the Mortal Instruments movie coming out on August 23, Gisbelle and I will be reading this book. We'd absolutely love to have others join us. It's my first time reading it and Gis's 2nd, so join us if you've read it or not. :o)

It comes out August 21st where I live. :-) I've read it, and I enjoyed it much more than I did City of Ashes, even though I liked City of Ashes. I think I might re-read this with you guys. But if I don't, I'll still discuss. :-D
Gis, I hope you enjoy it more too! The movie comes out where I live on August 23 so the reading time frame is perfect for me.
It will be fun to have two already-read-it buddies. When I have questions hopefully someone will know the answers! Lol

LOL I'm out of room too. But my bookshelf is small, so it can't hold lots of books. I agree on books as our babies!!
This is one of the most popular books in Windsor!!! In the library it has 18 holds and there wasn't a copy in most bookstores in Windsor.

I read this recently, and I LOVED it. I definitely want to see the movie because I adore Jonathan Rhys Meyers (who plays Valentine). Anytime a movie comes out that was made from a book, I always try to read the book first. Totally worth it! I'm planning on reading more of the series.
Just four more days before we start this one. I love all the comments and encouragement for a good read! :o)

I think that is the definition of being in buddy reads on Goodreads..."I am way behind in my reading." It seems that no matter what, none of us (or none that I know) can say no to a good read. LOL

Great! I have 4 grandkids with me overnight so we're going to see Grown-Ups 2 tomorrow. I'll read for sure tomorrow. :)
I loved Grown-Up 1 :) I'm going to read the sequel soon too. Can't wait. Those guys are so funny!
I know, right? I always plan my weekends to read, but when my 16 year old grand daughter texts me at school saying she misses me and we need to "hang out" that's more precious than anything else in life! But what's funny is that her sister (14) texted and asked if she could come, like I'd say no. My daughter has gotten temporary guardianship of 2 girls and they are my newest "grandchildren" so they came too. Full house last night! Books always take 2nd place to my precious grandkids. I started this book but I'm only in the 1st chapter. It grabbed my attention right away, so I think I'm going to love this one!
For some reason I am a bit confused by the beginning of the book. First of all, I didn't even know what a Shadowhunter was. I was a little confused as to which characters are which type of beings. I'm hoping it will come together for me better when I can read with no one here to create background noise. Is it only me?
its not just u Vicki I was confused to at the beginning because I didn't from whos point of view they were talking it changed from clary's to simon's I think thats his name ! im on page 90 and I kind of understand the story more so the fearther u r in the book the confusions will clear up!

It's told in 3rd person, so sometimes it switches scenes to focus on a different character. Like a movie! :-D It'll all make more sense. c:
I am about halfway through with this one but I started it awhile ago. I am having a hard time keeping my attention on it. its intersesting but kinds long

I got finished with chapter 5 and I am enjoying it more now. :o) I have not read many books with vampires, shadowhunters, and those types of beings. But I am opening myself up to different genres, so I am lost a little bit and feel out of the loop with books like this. But I'm a quick learner, and I have lots of GR buddies to ask! LOL
