ETA: Here's the link for the search engine. Yep, The Woman in White is there...
http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

I'm ready to start this challenge. I'll ley you know how P&P&Z compares to P&P which I read a few years ago.
I'm excited!!!!!!!

Good score, Susan! I wish I would've checked Alibris first, before paying full price for P&P&Z at B&N! Oh well! :)

The covers look eery lined up like that... dont they?"
ha! Yes, they do!

You're welcome. I keep forgetting about Project Gutenberg. Probably because I'd rather hold an actual book in my hands, and not read online. And printing out an entire book from a file on hard drive seems kind of silly, too.
I never read online, but I have a dread of Victorian Lit.... and wasnt sure if I wanted to spend money on both... so I chose PPZ to purchase, and thought I would try WiW online....

You can, of course, read the book on line. I prefer holding a printed text in my hand. But some of the Project Gutenburg books are only available in .txt files that are not easy to read--however there is much improvement now and many are in .pdf and HTML.
So I copy and paste the difficult files into Microsoft Word or some other word processor. I can then adjust the font and size to a pleasant reading format; and print it out.
I read "David Copperfield" by Charles Dickens this way. Even a book this large only cost me about $2 in copy paper and printer ink. And I printed it out about a chapter or two each time so it wasn't so cumbersome to carry about.
Just a suggestion.

:)

Some people believe that The Woman in White is the first mystery book that started the genre. I don't know whether or not that changes your view of the book.

I saw the book in the shop yesterday and was reading the backcover....jeezzzzzz, I am really not sure if I will read it. I mean, it is pride and prejudice...that book that I don't have a clue why but love it book.......

I have a feeling it might be better to read fist pride and prejudice before you read it and have zombies already in your head!!!:-)))

I'm trying to have the mind set that P&P&Z is an amusing take on a classic. A HA-HA kind of book.
I think you can read P&P&Z before P&P because when I look through P&P&Z the dialogue is more modern and P&P is definetly everything you would expect from a Jane Austin proper high english book.
I will read it before The Woman in White and let you know if my assumptions are correct.
