Victoria's heard sped up. Nonono.....they were surrounded. There was no way out.... She was trying to keep her powers from flaring up.
Nickolas blinked and started to laugh. "Well if it isn't the devil himself." A red head guy about the age of 20 grin at them. "And if isn't the little kid." Nickolas pulled the man into a tight embraced. "It been to long."
(You're guy in this one is Jack XD Nickolas is number 9))Victoria was confused, looking between them. "Jack? Who is this?" She asked eyes cutting to the red head in front of them. Flames were licking at her fingers a bit, not sure what to do.
((Wow I can not believe I mess that up.))Jack turn his grin on Victoria. "This is Grant. My old buddy from way back when."
((We have so many though it's easy to.))She gave Grant a nod. "We can trust him?" She asked Jack, the flames on her hands dying down.
"We can trust him." Jack said. "Grant works for the good guys."
"Hey...nice to meet you." She held out a hand to shake. If Jack said he was okay she believed him.
Grant shook her hand with a kind smile. "Nice to meet you too." he turn to look back at Jack. "What happen? We heard rumors of you guys..."
Victoria decided to just let Jack answer all the questions here. He'd be better able to explain than she could.
"We will explain it all later but right now..." He trailed off and Grant nodded. "You are being followed. Come." He start off to the right and Jack followed.
Victoria hesitated for a brief moment but followed Jack and Grant. "Where are we going?" She asked after a few minutes, glancing behind them.
"A safe house." Grant said throwing a look over his shoulder at them
"They found us here. How do you know they won't find us there? What happens if they do?"
Grant looked at Jack. "You didn't explain everything very well to her." He mutters. "I will explain everything when we make it there."
She frowned a bit at that, glancing at Jack before looking back at Grant as they Ran. "Well how far is it? Can we make it?"
Jack suddenly didn't met her eye, in fact he looked everywhere but her. Grant notice that and sighed. "Yes we are almost there." He turn to the right and there standing was a small house tucked between two larger houses. "And here we are." He did some sort of secret knock on the door and it open to show a little old lady who notice both Jack and Victoria right away. "Come come in." She said pushing them in the door and shutting it. She pushed them to the living room and made everyone sit down before going off for some tea. Jack sat on the edge of his seat and stared at his hands. "I sorry Victoria." He said after a while
She sat down beside him after thanking the older lady. She put a hand on his shoulder when she noticed that he was acting weird, glancing at Grant for a moment before back at Jack. "You have nothing to be sorry for Jack. It isn't your fault I started to get powers. And you've helped me so much since then. Why are you sorry?"
Jack sighed rubbing his hands together. "I didn't tell you the whole story. How my brother and me became so different and why. I should of but I couldn't. I never could deal with the pain of the past. My mother the one I told you was dead is still alive..." He said biting his lip. He looked out the window. "So much has changed since I was a kid."
She leaned her head on his shoulder, wrapping an arm around her best friend. "If you want to talk about it I'll listen, but you don't have to if you don't want to. It's up to you Jack. I can't blame you for not wanting to talk about him...after what he did. Keeping us locked up. You aren't like him. That's what matters."
He took a deep breath. "There is a war going on between my brother people and my mother people. I don't know exactly how my brother switched sides but he did. My mother tried to make me a weapon, I left before she could...." He said after a long moment of silence
"I can't blame you for that either. You're brother just wanted to use us too. seems like him and your mother are more alike than they want to admit."
"There is a war going on and we just got drag into the middle of it." He whispers
She frowned a bit. Not quite sure what he meant by that but afraid to ask. She wanted to go home but knew that tat couldn't happen anytime soon. If ever.
Gabriel sighed and spoke up. "What he means is both side has noticed you and want you to fight for them. See humans don't notice this super human's war going on. You here about a fire or some weird event and think natural cause it when in fact super humans has caused it."
((He's Jack :P I actually don't think we have a Gabriel in any of our rps.))"I don't want to fight in war." She shook her head. "I haven't had my powers that long. A few months now maybe? I'm still not in great control. I didn't want them. I don't want to fight."
((Shoot did it again! And In the dragon one, Jasmine friend is Gabriel))"That's the problem." Jack stood up and turn away pacing away to the door way. He glance at Grant who was just sitting on the couch watching the both of them. Jack drew his glance around the safe house with a sigh. "This war drags everyone in..." He whispers
((Oh right!))She was frowning, looking around at the others. What did that mean? Were they pretty much just prisoners again? Well she didn't want to fight! She didn't want people to use her for whatever the cause was. She wanted to be normal.
Grant got up and walked over to Jack. "I sorry buddy." He whispers. "We can fight this." Jack said looking down trying to believed it
"Can one of you please explain something to me? I-I'm still trying to get used to all this. I-I don't know how to deal with my powers. I've been kidnapped, chased. Been in hiding..."
Jack sat back down beside her. "Victoria, we will get through this whatever we must do but Victoria you must understand something. My mother people could help you..... I know you don't want to get drag into this war and if I can help it you wont but there are people who share your powers who can teach you..."
She glanced at him, bitting her lip. "They'll expect me to fight if they teach me won't they?" To think. Before all this, before her powers suddenly appeared her life had been so normal. Why her?
Jack looks away but nodded. "Probably but do not worry I will talk to my mother and make sure you will not have to fight."
"Will she listen to you?" She asked. Did it matter though? She needed to learn to control this so she didn't hurt anyone.
"I do not know but I can try." He said, he didn't mention the fact that he hated his mother but he would do this thing for her.
"Thank you Jack." She said, hugging him. He was her best friend. She didn't know what she would do without him.
"Don't thank me just yet." He warned her but he hugged her back closing his eyes hoping that he could keep his word. But something also bugged him, he want to fight in this war... He want to bring the people who were destroying their lives down... He couldn't tell Victoria that.... Could he? He didn't want to scare her or get into fight about this
"How many others are there with powers like me? With fire?" Ever since she'd gotten it she'd worked hard to keep it under control and at times its acted up. She was hoping that these other people could help her get it under control. Teach her how to do it. She didn't want to fight though. She wanted her ;ife to go back to normal but she knew that that wasn't possible. At this point she'd settle for semi normal. No people kidnapping them, trying to use them....
"Last time I been there?" He ask before answering his own question. "Probably about five. There was also people who control water, Earth, air, and so on. They all learn together in a group because controlling an element all has the same moment." He rub his forehead thinking back.
Victoria nodded, she'd have to take his word for that. She was quiet, not really sure what she was supposed to be doing now.
Jack turn to Grant. "When can we leave?" Grant jump to his feet. "Tomorrow at Dawn. We have to be quick about it."
Victoria wasn't really sure what she thought of Grant, but Jack trusted him and she trusted Jack. that would have to be enough.
Grant and Jack started to talk about plans, slowly moving into the dinning room for the table. Grant pulled out a map and pointed to where they were. "We have to go here." He said pointing to a different spot.
Victoria stayed in the room she was in, letting them talk since she didn't really know much about it. She sighed, leaning back on the couch and trying to relax.
After about 5 hours later Jack came back into the living room and sat in front of the couch. He sighed feeling very sleepy needed some sleep
By that time Victoria had fallen to sleep, curled up as he came back into the room.
Jack pulled a blanket over her sleeping form. He lay his head on the couch fighting to stay alive. He never like to sleep, he didn't like dreaming but he needed to. His eyes closed and soon he was fast asleep
