I have heard so much about that series. What did you think of the first book?

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) I actually enjoyed defiance. It was pretty good alannah. Definitely check it out. You'll like it.

I'll be reading this next month. Haven't ordered it yet as I'm annoyed that I can't easily find the matching US cover editions to go with my other 2 books - I hate cover changes!

Julia (juliastrimer) I'll be reading Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter for our library book club November meeting; we just read Beloved this month, and it was heartbreaking and powerful. No wonder Toni Morrison won the Pulitzer for it.

I LOVED this book! And I didn't even know it - not one of the most famous of Dicken's book.
I'm about to start - when my tablet wears out of battery! - Friend of My Youth, the first of some of Munroe's novel thatbI'd like to read this month

In a German mood Dhanaraj? I've never particularly liked Handke!

Dhanaraj Rajan | 2962 comments That is true, Laura. I have planned it that way - German Literature for this academic year.

Not sure I can help much as I haven't read any of those. If I'm deciding between a few books I sometimes read the first page of each and stick with the one that grips me most :)

Cheryl, I've read 2 of them - Gone with the Wind and Under the Dome. Depends what you like, really - both are quite long winded, but also a good read.

The Yellow Wallpaper is quite short, so maybe that would be a good choice as you mentioned elsewhere that this upcoming week will be a busy one.

Read The Yellow Wallpaper. It is very short and you can finish it tonight, so you might as well do it. The Bell Jar would be a good one to follow that up with.
