update covers for an author

I am new to being a librarian and my first task is to update covers for an author that is in a book group I am in on Facebook. How do I go about doing this. Is there somewhere that has a step by step instruction, I have searched for a while now and can't seem to find it and do not want to do something wrong right out of the gate so thought I would ask, any help would be greatly appreciated

First become aware of the policy that we don't update covers of published work. If the author creates a new cover we create alternate cover editions.

Beth, since you have made zero edits so far your safest bet is probably to repost the authors request in this group and see the results. Doing what amounts to private edits for an author has been known to cause, um, other issues.
