Other than reading - what do you do with your free time?

I try to spend most of my free time with my daughter. Her dad and I are divorced, I only have her four days a week so I try to get in as much play time as possible with her. Except when she's taking a nap of course, like right now. I took her this morning to go get her 4 year old pictures taken (she'll be 4 next Saturday) and I know I'm biased, but they were absolutely adorable!
The rest of my free time is spent with my boyfriend, friends, family and working on schoolwork.
I don't watch much TV, in fact all I've been watching lately is two hours of Food Network per week. On Thursday nights, I like to watch Iron Chef, then there are two episodes of Ace of Cakes on after that. The last few weeks though, I've been too tired to watch the entire second episode. Sometimes I'll watch the Food Network Challenge on Sunday nights.
I'm stuck listening to wrestling on Monday and Friday nights as my boyfriend has become totally addicted to watching it. Does anyone else think it's as lame as I do? So I usually read my book or work on homework.

VERY LAME!!!! But I'm sure he thinks that we all read and go online to talk about reading is just as lame so it evens out :)

I don't get much free time anymore it seems, but when I do I'm big on shopping or spending time with my dogs. I love taking them to either the dog park or the dog beach. Sunday nights I will go to karaoke if I do not have to work on Monday's. Now I've been researching schools, and working some overtime. Reading is a big part of my life lately!

There's a beach for dogs? I've never heard of that, it sounds really cool!
Hey, I don't know if you're looking at on campus only schools or online schools, but I'm strictly online through Baker College. They're based here in Michigan (with 9 campuses) but online students and professors are from all over the country. My professor for the class I'm taking right now (Environmental Science - it's my required science elective) lives in New Mexico. The classes aren't too costly when compared to a university - $190 per credit hour.
Though I think you said in the UK Author group that you're looking into paralegal. I'm not sure if they have that...

In 2.5 weeks my life will completely change because I will finally be back in the US yay!!! party!!!
Right now I workout if I have free time and am not working or reading.
My plans for when I get home are to relax with my husband with a glass of wine and have lots of sex!

Absolutely Joanne! I stay at home with my 1 year old daughter (tomorrow is her birthday!!)& whatever free time I get I'm usually reading. I don't watch that much, and pretty much the only shows I feel I need to watch are The Real Housewives (any of them - they are so entertaining), Top Chef, or Grey's.

Bad reality tv is my guilty pleasure! I am addicted to the Real Housewives and most of the crappy VH1 shows :)

My free time is spent reading, watching the telly (Grey's, Real Housewives, How I Met Your Mother), spending time with family and friends and just relaxing. Nothing too exciting, but definitely chill.

I spend as much time as possible with "my boys" (my son and husband). My time solely to myself is spent either at the gym or in the kitchen, since my passions aside from reading are exercise and cooking. I rarely watch TV, but I have a slight addiction to "American Idol" (and I'm rooting for Kris Allen to win!) Other than that, there aren't any shows I regularly watch...unless you count our nightly episode of "Clifford the Big Red Dog," which is my son's favorite.

I've watched a few episodes of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. I really liked the show but I never knew for sure what time it was on....

I liked the Real Housewives of Atlanta too. But for some reason I prefer Real Housewives of NYC. That Bethanny is a hoot. The reunion special was crazy!

I haven't even heard of this Real Housewives show! I am excited to check it out in a few weeks.

Right now Real Housewives of NJ is on & being from NJ, I think this one is hysterical! It's on Bravo on Tuesday's @ 10.

And the second part of the reunion special is on tonight for the NY housewives before NJ's episode!! My bf laughs at the NJ one because I was born in Jersey so he points and says "look what you would be like if you still lived there!!!" Ummmm not even close!

LOL! I'm guessing that starts at 9 or 9:30? I've only got a few minutes to remember it before it comes on, but I'm trying to get kids ready for bed so.....all could be forgotten by then! LOL!

Kristine - I totally agree with you, Kelly is my least favorite too. She seems so airy fairy. I mean, what was with her explanation about telling Bethanny that I am up here and you are down here. What was that? Crazy!!!

"Wait wait wait STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP"...omg everytime she does that I want to HIT HER! I was so glad on the reunion show Bethenny called her out and made fun of her for saying that all the time! I'm sad that NY season is over. They are my favorites out of all of them.

Me too! I love the NY cast! And I agree with you Kourtney, I wanted to hit Kelly too! She is so obnoxious!!! Every time she said "Wait wait wait STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP" I wanted to scream!!! I don't know how anyone can deal with her. I have to admit I did laugh out loud when Luann called Ramona "crazy eyes". Ramona is just too much sometimes.

Ok, so obviously I've never watched any of the New York ones. And apparently I missed the reunion last night. I turned it on at 9pm and it was an old (I think) episode of New Jersey. It's all good though since I hadn't watched any yet. I tried to stay up through the "new" one at 10 but fell asleep at the end. I'm liking it though. Jacqueline is my favorite, I felt so bad for her when she was talking about her miscarriages (sp?). And the chick with the black hair...she has scary eyes. I don't like looking at her. Her daughter Gia is beautiful though, I hope the acting stuff works out for her. The lady with the red hair makes me think of a mafia boss. I'm not sure how I feel about Dina and Danielle other than I think Danielle is a little full of herself. Sucks about her divorce settlement though.

I haven't seen the new episode of NJ yet and my bf hijacked the TV with the DVR to watch the Dodger game - I can't wait for the episode where they all fight and crazy dark hair stage mom lady flips the table over!

I know what you mean Kourtney! I can't wait to watch that episode too! Why is she flipping the table over and what happens after? That is gonna be killer!

I too cannot wait - I think it has something to do with Danielle - I'm really not that into her. There's something off.

I think it comes on at 10pm on Tuesdays, but at 9pm they show last week's episode to catch the audience up in case they are behind an episode.

Crap! That means it's on now! Guess I'd better turn the TV on....

Ooh, good thing because I completely forgot to turn the TV on before my bf came in and commandeered the remote. They play the previous week right before the new one right? I'll have to watch next week.

Ok, so I just turned the TV on and was flipping through the channels and found the Real Housewives of NJ. I don't know if this is the one that was on last night, but I haven't watched this one yet....

I just finished watching the episode and I also want to read that book! But it is out of print and apparantly hard to find (figures!)

I googled it and found this article where they found the book and were able to print the mugshot and the full story (which of course brings the NJ housewives up on my trashtastic meter!):

First read that article and then when you are done click on the link that says "More on that later" and it tells the rest of the story in more detail. All of those rumor shots we've been seeing where it talks about her kidnapping, drug cartel, stripping are all answered!!

Ok ladies I think I finally figuired out how you all read so much quicker then me.

I myself am addicted to TV. I must watch atleast 50 shows. I probably watch about 15 or more hours a week of TV.

Here are a few of my favs. Grey's , Idol , Private Practice , House , Dancing , 90210 , Gossip Girl. I wont bore you with the rest.

Hey Dawn! I love Grey's too! And I watch Gossip Girl from time to time. I was addicted to House but since it comes on at the same time as 2 other shows I love I haven't been watching it. I am hoping to catch up with it when it comes out on dvd.

Re: Grey's - do you think George or Izzie will come back this fall? I keep hearing rumors that both characters are gone from the show.

FYI house is repeated on the USA network alot over the weekends.

RE: Grey's Izzie has been threatening to leave for the last 2 seasons so I doubt she will ever really go. I think they do this to get more money.

George might actually leave from what I heard. How cool was that last episode huh.

The last episode was great!! I was crying and laughing and just totally enjoyed it. I couldn't believe that was George at the end. Poor George!! And the wedding with Mer and Der - Post its? I mean, it was romantic, but I can't help but think that this spells trouble for them next fall. And I have to say, I am loving Cristina and Owen together! They are so great together. I can't wait for next season.

i have to admit that i am getting a bit bored with callie and arizona and mark and lexie. those 2 couples need something to stir them up a bit. and i agree with you, mer and der can't live happily ever after just yet, because then that would be the end of the show.

Yeah they should put her back to men. She is not so fun as a lesbian. Maybe make her and Mark hook up and that's how he ends it with Lacy.

Stacy - I don't remember anything about a book either. But I read that article and it sounds like Danielle-ish behaviour. Crazy!!!

Dawn - I know! I like Mark better with Callie. They play off each other well. Lexie is just boring. That would be great if Mark and Callie got back together. I wonder what will happen to Alex if Izzie is gone for good. Obviously he'll mourn this summer and then come fall, will he still be mourning or will he be womanizing again?

I haven't read the article yet. I'll have to do that. On the episode I watched, I remember seeing something about Danielle getting arrested but I think it was a preview for an upcoming show?
Danielle had a spa party at her house and Dina kept making comments about Botox. So apparently they are not getting along again. Was this the new episode for this week?

Yeah - the spa party episode was the new episode for this week. I only saw parts of the episode and already I can see how Danielle is a troublemaker. I don't think that Dina and Danielle will ever get along and from they way the blogs are written I think that all the women wind up not being friendly with Danielle by the end of the season.
