E.A. (gammera) | 16 comments My book "Now & Again" is now available for purchase from Barnes & Noble. The current link in Goodreads doesn't work. How do I update it to: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/now-a...

Deon (deonva) | 3718 comments you do not have a B&N edition added
it will begin with the BN ID 294

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments You don't update the Barnes and Noble link; you have to have editions of the book with whatever isbn or bnid numbers Barnes and Noble offers for sale. Librarians cannot use the Barnes and Noble website to obtain data. If not comfortable creating and combining the Barnes and Noble editions yourself, you'll need to provide the data and a librarian can create for you.

(Plus, if by "Barnes and Noble link" you mean the green get a copy button leftmost that says "Barnes and Noble" - although not labeled as an advertisement that first button is a sponsored link that will not always be Barnes and Noble that cannot be edited; could change to kobo, itunes, or any number of booksellers paying for the space. The regular Barnes and Noble link will be under your middle green button with other retail sites -- either as goodreads defaults or as however individual goodreads members customize. Editing your Barnes and Noble link will not populate the edit out to all Member's Barnes and Noble links. Just need to make sure you have book editions that Barnes and Noble actually sells.)

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments I think there's only an ebook (nook edition) on Barnes and Noble, bnid 2940148700852, pub date 1/16/2013. If that's accurate, you can go ahead and create the edition or ask a librarian to add (had my nook handy so downloaded a sample).

I keep forgetting Goodreads does everything through editions. Okay, can you direct me to a help message on adding new editions? If I can do it myself I will. I assume adding a B&N edition must be somewhere within my "Edit Book" area. I can't seem to find it.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments Once added, don't forget to combine with the other editions (or ask a librarian to do for you).

Okay. I did everything you all suggested. I created a new edition called Ebook. I used the B&N ID in the ISDN spot. I filled in all the blanks to match the other editions. I combined all the editions. AND...still no active link to my book on B&N when the B&N button is clicked. I give up. At least the Amazon connection links to the book on Amazon. I guess that's what really matters. Sigh! What a waste of effort.

The B&N button works for me, if clicked on that edition's page: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18...

Yes, but then the Amazon button doesn't link. I thought combining editions would allow all the links to work. I guess not.

Each edition's links will only work for sites that support a given ISBN or ASIN.
