September Challenge - Discussion Thread

Ok - sorry for the delay ladies and I found a spare moment to check out this thread,lol

Utter craziness this week with back to school stuff - supply shopping, locker set up, curriculum nights and my daughter just started Middle School so some new school/new locker/several teachers anxiety.....Whew!!



So if I read this correctly I have approx 15 books to read and they need to fit within (3) different challenges set up within this thread.

Just an FYI to add to my family's utter craziness. We are going on vacation the week of labor Day. I should have internet access but I definitely won't be on that much as we will be in sunny Aruba ☺

Yes, you can choose your own animal and spell-it-out. It'll be easier work for us to track too. Thanks for that :)

All challenges have to be worked as a team. So will the A-Z challenge - we'll be working on it together. Good news is that the A-Z and the 3rd challenge (Animal Alphabet) don't have any min or max number to fill. So it'll be flexible for us.

There are information regarding the September Monthly Challenge

1. The mods have modified the September Challenge a bit:
- If we just aim for the % (without fitting the books into the challenge)
9.9% = 4 BAP
8.33 to 9.8% = 2 BAP
7 to 8.2 = 1 BAP

- If we aim to fit the books into the challenges (the original version):
9.9% = 9 BAP
8.33 to 9.8% = 7 BAP
7 to 8.2 = 5 BAP

There is no change to our challenge plan as we have already decided to go with the original challenge. The best news is that when we hit the number, we will get 9 BAP.

2. Which brings us to... We have to choose our two challenges by the end of the month:
◈ For the A-Z Challenge, we suggest either:
Author Alphabet Reading Challenge OR Title Alphabet Reading Challenge. Please post which challenge you would prefer in THIS THREAD.

◈ For the third challenge, we have decided to go with Animal Alphabet Spell-It-Out Challenge as it gives the maximum flexibility for us to fit all our books.

Please note that we have time till September 20 to change our challenges if we face any difficulty.

I like the Title Alphabet Reading Challenge - just in case I read several from the same author. They would all count as long as Title starts with different letters.

I thought people would like Author A-Z because you have two potential letters but I forgot about the part about the books from same author.

Okay, since majority likes Title A-Z, that will be our second challenge. I'm updating post #2 with the challenge information.

You don't have to join any of the challenges. You can just list your books in the posting thread (that I'll open in a day). Of course, you can join if you want to. I'm planning to join the A Book A Day Challenge.

Thanks Vi! I did join the book a day challenge too.
I just know I'm not good at finishing an A - Z challenge. A few of those letters always stump me,lol.
I will probably join the animal challenge.

Just making sure it wasn't a requirement.
