Jenni (jennilukee) I liked the way the book managed to show real problems in Indian society and still have lots of humour in it. The relationship between Vish Puri and his mother was delightful.

The case of the missing servant was translated into Finnish earlier this year, but I'm so glad I decided to read it in English. Indian English was such an elemental part of the atmosphere of the book that I'm probably going for the audiobook version of The Case of the Man Who Died Laughing.

Winter (wren99) | 12 comments Okay, so I'm 3-4 years behind in this comment, but I wish I had been part of the conversation back then! I read and listened to all these novels and absolutely enjoyed them. The audiobook emphasizes the humorous tone of the novels and they were perfect for my work commute. I had to read the books too because it was hard to understand some of the names and unfamiliar words without seeing them written down. I'm sorry that the podcast doesn't seem to be available. It says there was an interview with the author and I would have loved to hear that!
