Page number correction

Hello,

I have a page number correction for The Grapes of Wrath. The ISBN is 978-0-14-028162-0. The page for this ISBN says the total pages is 464 when this edition is 455. It's weird because the default edition I was taken to has 455. Thank you!

Should we be using the isbn data in Amazon for page numbers or the book count if they don't match?

For example a particular fiction book shows 400 pages according to the isbn13 listen in the amazon link but another librarian changes it to 390 stating that is what physical book has. I know there are "extra" blank pages in books that may account for the difference. Has a precedence been set?

Amazon's book page counts are frequently incorrect. WorldCat is a good source, but having the actual books in your hands is the best source.
