Wicked Witch & Curse

message 153: by [deleted user] (new)

I've only read each of them once, i'm not really a person who re-reads books.

I'm currently reading Anthony Kiedis' autobiography Scar Tissue, i'm liking it so far only a couple of chapters in.

message 154: by [deleted user] (new)

Good :D

Pattinson was in that film, how do you think he did?

message 159: by Kourtney (new)

Kourtney (kandachan) | 9 comments He did good. :) And i didn't have a clue he was in it cuz i didn't recognize him until i read some magazine and said he was in harry potter... so i was like 'oh. that was him?!'

message 161: by Katie (new)

message 162: by Genkigami (new)

Genkigami | 5 comments I'm rereading It's Not News, It's Fark by Drew Curtis. It's a hilarious look at the news media and the ridiculous aspects of the news. I read it once for a research project on news media using fear as a tactic to keep ratings, but that time it was just "grab something to cite and leave."

message 163: by Maria Isabella (new)

Maria Isabella Franco (isabella1918) | 18 comments Just Finished "Blue Moon" by Alyson Noel... it was pretty good....

message 164: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments was i gone THAT long????-gasps- sorry y'all! i was a bit busy with life and all that.Depression never really leaves apparently.-sigh- And i was reading a lot too.....But i'm glad to be back. i didnt know i was missed at all :)

message 169: by [deleted user] (new)

:) Missed you too, it wasn't that long, but it was long enough to notice, if you know what I mean. So your starting The Host? Did you buy it before you read it, cause you trust Stephenie's writing, or did you borrow it, just to make sure?

message 170: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments Well....i got it as an ebook from a good friend of mine so it's there to keep. i would have bought it but my graduation Ball sucked up all my savings :(
But i DO trust her writing.anything she writes is bound to be good. The book's great so far!

message 171: by [deleted user] (new)

Great, It's in my to-read list... Somwhere. *Searches Piles of books* I'll get to it eventually....

message 172: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments you definitely HAVE to read it sometime.it's taking a while to finish, though.i started it two days ago and i'm still nowhere near finished cuz im so busy these days.it's driving me crazy!

message 173: by Maria Isabella (new)

Maria Isabella Franco (isabella1918) | 18 comments The Host is a great book. I was telling another group to give it at least to chapter 5. It takes off from there. But overall... great book :)

message 174: by [deleted user] (new)

Sharda wrote: "you definitely HAVE to read it sometime."

You said the same thing about Harry Potter, and it's also in my pile...somewhere. I really need to find time to read! I spend a lot of time on a reading website rather than reading, how ironic.

message 175: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments and i was doing the opposite.that's why i've been gone so long.i read 32 books since exams finished last month :)

message 176: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow, that's detication! That's great. :)

message 177: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments OR...maybe it was vampire obsession. All except one was about vampires :D

message 178: by Joy (last edited Jul 24, 2009 02:16PM) (new)

Joy (thedragonlily) | 39 comments I didn't read any Twilight books until the whole series was out, so I read the series as one novel. Reading BREAKING DAWN now (3rd time), plus I read in this group that Stephenie changed her mind again and isn't finishing the "sun book," so I'm reading the incomplete ms.

All my sisters loved Twilight, and the one who read THE HOST says it's even better.

Joy wrote: " plus I read in this group that Stephenie changed her mind again and isn't finishing the "sun book," so I'm reading the incomplete ms."

It's best to go into it without the expectation of it being finished. Sort of like an incomplete twilight fan fiction, that you read and like, and the user promises to post more of, but you know that they've probably already moved on to other ventures, so you favorite what you see, and move on to the next piece of writing.

It's also quite interesting to read and then go back to twilight, because there are new insights into the characters (by way of Edward being able to read minds), like Mike Newton, we thought was harmless because we saw what Bella saw, but you read Midnight Sun and you truly see that he is a generic, vindictive little twerp, with hormonal issues. We learn about how Angela and Ben got together in the first place, and how Edward & Emmett had something to do with that. We learn to hate Jessica more. We even learn a little more about the Cullen's, so if only to read it for more insight and background for twilight, I recommend it.

message 180: by Joy (new)

Joy (thedragonlily) | 39 comments I'm very much enjoying the discussions the Cullens are having about the Bella situation. It's so right for how each person would react. I've just gotten to Edward's first visit to Bella's bedroom.

message 181: by [deleted user] (new)

It sort of turns people's whole, "He's not a stalker!" perspective, to "Oh, wait, he is... But I'm okay with that". Hehe.

message 182: by [deleted user] (new)

LOLZ!!

message 183: by [deleted user] (new)

It's true though, to many people, Edward can do no wrong. Including Bella.

message 184: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep that is true all right!

message 185: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments I dont really care that he's a stalker, though. in fact, i loved his pov in MS so much i put it on my ipod that i always carry around with me. i couldnt bear to not have it with me whenevr i wanna read it. But i'll have to find another solution when skl starts back. ipods r banned :(

message 186: by [deleted user] (new)

Grr, darn rules. You could just print it out, and put it in a folder or something, if you have the paper that is. And also, if you love it a lot, you can pay to get the pages bound in your own personal copy, but it might not help if your still searching for money, the starting cost is 20$ I think.

message 187: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments heck, i love it enough to write it out if i have to.maybe i'll sneak my mp4 into my bookbag.it's smaller and i can read from there.(Of course that's still against the rules, but next term my year is the prefect body so we enforce the rules and therefore obviously we break the small rules just as often) :>

message 188: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol. Ah, the things we do for books. *Sly Grin*

message 189: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments not all books.....just anything Twilight related :D
then again, maybe it's anything vampire related.i've run out of vampire books to read, though.anybody knows any good ones????

message 190: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 24, 2009 03:26PM) (new)

Moon Called by Patricia Briggs, is good, but if you don't like sexy stuff than you wouldn't like it. I'm half way through, and I'm really liking it so far. I can't reccomend books I've read though (Haven't read too many vampire novels), but you can check my to-reads' for any idea's on vampire books you haven't read.

message 191: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments I'll do that after i'm finished with the Host then.i'll try Moon Called first and see if it's any good :)

message 192: by [deleted user] (new)

:) You seemed to have read a lot of Vamp books, I was suprised I could find one you haven't read.

message 193: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments yup. I have an obsession with vampires since forever. And i'm still looking for more books. ironically, i never read the original dracula although i've seen the movie and i have the book.

message 194: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never read the original either, I've only read the wikipedia plot summary, and some of the myths from other countries.

message 195: by Joy (new)

Joy (thedragonlily) | 39 comments I expect she'll keep the sun book on her website, so we can go back and reread it.

message 196: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, and you can always download the PDF, and store it for keepsake.

message 197: by Sharda (new)

Sharda | 558 comments yeah, i did that. i was in a panic that she'll remove it so i took no chances :)

message 198: by [deleted user] (new)

:) I saved it everywhere.
