Ok so....I finally pulled a book off of my TBR list! I started The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks today! I hope its good! I must say though, that I had no idea this book was the same book that Miley Cyrus's movie was based on. I havent read the book yet but I think it was a horrible decision to cast her as the lead. As soon as i saw her in the movie previews I automatically assumed it was some sappy Disney movie and decided that I probably would never see it. I didnt know then that "The Last Song" was a wonderful romance written by the man who gave us The Notebook, Nights in Rodanthe, and Dear John. I should've been a casting agent!

How is it good?!" But I heard that it was an awesome movie- and from someone who doesn't like Miley Cyrus, too! o.O
Lol... I'll probably see it (on dvd of course) once Im done with the book. I dont really have a problem with Mileys acting..I honestly never really paid attention to her much. I just think shes a bad fit because shes the "Disney Girl". Nicholas Sparks has such a great reputation as a writer of great romances. I dont think she matches up to Nics standards. I could be wrong though. Someone probably said the same thing about Taylor Lautner.
I just finished reading Beach Blondes by Katherine Applegate. I really liked it!
Just finished the Breaking Dawn, for the third time.I'm about to start on The Scarpetta Factor, Patricia Cornwall, been told it's good.

omg. Ive read the house of night series!
uNiKue wrote: "omg. Ive read the house of night series!"Yeah, I read Marked back in September. I really liked the beginning, but by the end I got a little turned off by some of the bizarre occurrences. But, I decided I'd give the series another chance. I'm really liking Betrayed so far.

I've just finished Blood Ties (Darke Academy #2) by Gabriella Poole and loved it, well worth reading after the first one. Now just started Nightlight: a parody of 'Twilight'. Already had me sniggering in a few places!!
Today I'll be finishing The Undead Next Doorby Kerrelyn SparksIt was for a book challenge for April. Just noticed I'm already doing 8 books for May...cool
Hi - I haven't posted on here very much. I'm Gayle and I loved to read!! and I LOVED the Twilight series - have read them all 3 times:)I just finished reading "Fallen" by Lauren Kate - it was good and I am looking forward to the sequel. I just started "Angel Time" by Anne Rice.
I enjoy seeing what everyone else has read - it gives me ideas about what to go look for.
Hi Gayle, I've only just started on these forums myself.Obviously I'm a huge Twilight fan and I have become very caught up on this site with lots of different points of view - it's great!
I've read many good things about "Fallen", so I think I'll give that a whirl next, also Shiver is supposed to be good too, so I think I'll have to go on a shopping spree soon!
Hi Kylie - "Fallen" had a few of the themes from Twilight - but the characters and situations are very different from Twilight. I am really wanting to find out what happens next - but the 2nd book doesn't come out until this fall:( I also loved "The Huger Games" and "Catching Fire" by Suzanne Collins. Totally different from Twilight. Very futuristic and syfyish. I found out about these books because Stephenie Meyer said she loved them - and she was right - they are great. The third book in that Trilogy comes out in August.

It's a sweet story,yet somewhat annoying..lol.
I'm currently reading
and I must say it's really catching my attention right now. I'm also listening to
. It's a very interesting story of a schizophranic musical prodegy and both Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. did a great job with the moive. :)

Natalie wrote: "Krystal wrote: "Okay I finished The Last Song on Sunday, and I will say that I liked it. I was more interested with Ronnie and her Dad then her summer romance with Will, still a good read though.
Are there any other good summer read books you guys can suggest. Im looking for a nice romance (no vampires). I was thinking of reading more of Nicholas Sparks, maybe Dear John?
ive read the rescue "nicholas sparks "did u read it before ..i had dear john but i didnt read it yet ...

Just finished 'Nightlight' the Twilight parody and have just started Evermore: The Immortals series #1 by Alyson Noel.
I read the whole of Shiver last night, I'm rather proud of myself. I started at 4pm and finished at midnight.I found it good, however, I found that I was left unsatisfied at the end, although I did shed a tear right at the very end!
I found that it was very similar to Twilight and I do want to read the next installment!
I'm just starting Sepulchre by Kate Mosse.
