You didn't mind the epilouge?

I loved it... I thought it was a really good ending. Did you?

I thought it would have been so much more meaningful if Stephenie had just scrapped it. It sort of went against the message of the book.

message 705: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sathans83) Yeah I didn't mind either way... but I guess I was a little happier that she put it in.

After reading the Host I can't seem to find another book as good. I'm currently reading Shiver and can not get into it. any suggestions?

message 706: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't found a book I've enjoyed as much as Twilight so I can't really suggest.

message 707: by [deleted user] (new)

Now I'm reading Schooled.

wait I literally cried! I was so glad that she added that ending! thats what made it one of my fav books and the wierd thing is that I normally hate those endings

It's alright you can drop in and chat. :) However, you just revealed a major spoiler for people who havent read The Host. If I were you I'd go to the side of the comment --->
and click "edit" and redact that, so that our other members can experience it for themselves. If you could do that, much love. :)

Have fun in the group!

message 714: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebecca32) If you love twilight (love and vamps) then I recommend:

Young adults : read House of Nights series by PC Cast. It's like Twilight meets Harry Potter. It is classified as YA, but it does have some more sexuality then Twilight.

Adults: I love the NIght Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost. Great love story and great story!

Well, I mean, Wanda's letting go, and she's doing something for the humans, virtually sacrificing herself. Unwilling to be a parasite any longer. It was a strong message. Then it was ruined.

Lovvebug wrote: "Young adults : read House of Nights series by PC Cast."

I really disliked that series. I think people should try it, but I'd say to check it out of the library, and not buy it.

I liked House of Night for how much different it was than Twilight but I could have done without the vivid sex scenes.

message 728: by [deleted user] (new)

I think maybe if the main character wasn't so shallow and selfish, or if they just had a different main character entirely, the pop culture references were toned down, the evil characters were less obvious, the mythology was stuck to more, and if they didn't have a freakin' salad bar, then I'd enjoy it... Well maybe.

message 729: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked the book for it's flaws it was creative and different than most of the stupid vampire books

message 730: by [deleted user] (new)

Just because something is different doesn't make it better, but I guess when you see a lot of the same it's refreshing.

message 731: by [deleted user] (new)

You guys are funny

Hey! I’m reading Shiver at the moment and to be honest I wouldn't waste your money!
After reading some of the reviews I thought it would be really good almost similar to Twilight but NO! It’s nothing like Twilight and the male interest (Sam) annoys the hell out of me - he is just so pathetic. Also, I think it was written for 12 year olds. But hey, that's just my opinion on it.
If you haven't already, read the Host its awesome! Or the Mortal Instruments!!

Sarah wrote: "I’m reading Shiver at the moment and to be honest I wouldn't waste your money!"

Okay, thanks Sarah. I can't not read it, but I'll make sure not to pay full price.

message 734: by [deleted user] (new)

Leilani wrote: "So you think because *** ****** *** it ruined the whole book?"

No, I never said it ruined the whole book. I just said it sort of messed with the message, and made me sad. :( I still liked it though, don't get me wrong.

((By the way you might want to put a spoiler warning to your comment by editing it, so not to ruin the ending for those reading this))

i'm only 1/2 through it, but it goes in to a lot better details than the movie, a lot more description to the characters, pretty much pulls you in from page 1 lol. i suggest reading it.

I'll have to check it out then. :)

message 737: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) is the host going to be a series? sorry im not really new but i drop in from time to time :)

message 738: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sathans83) No one really knows... but I'm hoping yes! Although, I don't really see how there could be another book or 2??

message 739: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe she'll bring in a brand new threat, like she did with BD.

message 740: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sathans83) oohhh yeah! maybe... or the only other thing I can think of is that the guy at the end (can't think of his name) is really a seeker (the other 'native').

message 741: by [deleted user] (new)

Ooh, that might fit. Seeing as the name they're thinking of is "The Seeker" for the next book.

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) i wasnt planning on reading THE HOST yet because i thought it would be a series...should i go ahead?

message 745: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, The Host could pretty much be a stand-alone anyway. It's not stringed in with the sequel.

message 746: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) did you like it as much as TWILIGHT (im assuming you like TWILIGHT haha)

message 747: by [deleted user] (new)

Not as much as Twilight, but it was close. Some people do prefer The Host though.
