J.C. Mells | 32 comments Just wanted to pick some brains of other indie authors - and I apologize if I have this in the wrong section! "Book Discussions" was the nearest I could find to "Author to Author Discussions".

Anyway, I was wondering about the significance of an Editorial review - and if it is even possible for a self-pub to get one. I am assuming that a blog review of your book doesn't count as one - or does it?

I am specifically asking because my book has been rejected by Bookbub to be listed - and they list a long generic list of reasons as to why it *might* have been rejected (they do not specify which one) and I am wondering if it might be because I have no editorial reviews...? I have been looking at their lists regularly and see books listed with covers whose quality is comparable to mine, half the reviews mine has, same genre (paranormal romance) - BUT theirs has editorial reviews...

Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this at all?

Lana Axe (lana_axe) | 32 comments I'm not sure about the reviews, but they may have had too many submissions for your genre. I'm not sure how they make their decisions, but your book looks perfectly fine. You might want to retry them in a month or two. Best of luck to you. :)

J.C. Mells | 32 comments Thanks Lana. I have been looking at other people's "Editorial Review" section on Amazon in the meantime - and it looks like they had cited reviews from Book review websites and blogs - so I don't see why I can't either!
