Kayla shook her head. "NO." That was the loudest she had ever talked in front of people before. She sprints out of the bathroom with her back on her back rattling around. Her hair went back and she made it to the door to go outside. Turning the door nob she turned around to make sure Will wasn't near.

Will sighs and follows Kayla. He gently pulls her away from the door, "I'm not letting you get hurt again." he whispers in her ear. "Don't make this hard Kayla, I'm just trying to protect you." he says soothingly,
That made Kayla burst out crying. All of her weight left her legs and she collasped on the ground crying. Shaking her head, it was really hard to breathe. "People have done that before." She said shakily. "They got hurt." She shook her head and more tears fell.
Will crouches next to her and points to his muscled arms, "Do you really think they can hurt me? I've done mixed martial arts fighting for years, they won't get past me."
Looking up and seeing the musles she burst out laughing but was still cryjng. "They- they have guns." She said. Lifting up her shirt a little you could see a bullet hole in it. "I think they will.." Kayla said really quiet. She curled up into a ball and cried.
Will sits and pulls Kayla into his lap, "They shot you?!?!" he was really mad. How could someone beat, let alone shoot their own child?!
"They tried to kill me.." She whispered. "They killed my broth-" She had to stop there. Kayla burst out crying even more. Clutching onto Will's shirt, she sighed.
Will holds her close, letting her cry, "Have you tried going to the police? Or Child Protective Services?"
"Both of us. That's when-" Kayla stopped talking choking on her tears since she was crying so hard. She shook her head. All of the memories came back to her.
Will rubs Kayla's back, "Shhhhh.... You donlt have to talk about it."
Kayla nodded. "I don't want to go to school today.." She muttered.
"Then you don't have to, I was planning on calling in sick anyway." he admits sheepishly.
Kayla nodded and closed her eyes trying to get her breathing back to normal. Trying to get rid of her panic attack.
Will keeps rubbing her back, "Shhhhh.... Shhhhhhh...."
Finally, she stopped having her panic attack and just layed their on his lap feeling hopeless.
Will bites his lip, then strokes Kayla's hair. "It's alright..." he promises.
Kayla nodded her head. "Okay.." She said to him and smiled weakly.
Will smiles back, still stroking her hair.
Kayla finally got up and looked around.
Will stands up, "Are you hungry?" he asks
"Kind of.." She said quietly.
"How about some toast and jelly?" Will suuggests, leading her to the kitchen.
"Yes please." Kayla said while following him into the kitchen.
Will gets out bread and jelly, then sticks a couple pieces in the toaster.
She sat down in a chair waiting quietly.
Will toasts two peices of bread, then puts jelly on them, "Here you go."
"Thank you.." Kayla said taking them and starting to eat them.
Will smiles, "It's no problem." he pors a glass of orange juice and sets on the table in front of Kayla.
Kayla finished off her toast and drank her orange juice.
Will smiles, "Do you want anything else?"
"No thank you.." Kayla finished her orange juice and put them in the sink.
Will washes the cup and the spoon he had used for the jelly.

Will watches her, "Do you need to sleep more?"
Kayla shook her head. "No thank you." At that she yawned and cursed herself.
Will chuckles and raises an eyebrow, "Really?"
All Kayla did was nod her head.
"Go lay down, I'll let the school know you're sick." Will tells her gently
Kayla got up and nodded. She went to where she was before and fell asleep.

Will sits on the couch, grading papers. He had already called in for them, claiming each was sick.
Kayla walked in and plopped on the floor right in front of him and took out her homework which she forgot to do last night.
Will smiles as he grades, noticing Kayla. "Feel any better?"
"I guess so." In the middle of her math homework she sighed and shut her eyes tightly.
"Need some help?" Will asks
Kayla shook her head then looked back down at the problem. And then nodded her head.
