Shirley, just to let you know that I've added a March Sign-Up Sheet to the Reading Journey, as Terri was asking about it in the February thread.
Thanks Jenny, I've just seen it. Wasn't sure whether to continue with it, as interest had dwindled...
Hi all,
I'm trying to post a new comment in the "group announcement" thread but I can't seem to do so. It says the thread has been frozen. Any idea why?

A strange thing happend to me as well: I saw in my mail that Shirley sent me a mail here in goodreads telling about the poll for our April Fiction Read.
From my mail I could get to the poll and have also voted. But there's no trace of the message here in goodreads!!!!!!

Hi Laura, I think it's because I sent an invitation direct from the poll - and I don't think it keeps a record of it under messages..?
it will only show in your messages if you add an additional message to the poll-notification I think (just a theory ;))
Just wanting to let you know that I am on tour again until the 23rd, so I will not be able to go online regularly. If major disaster occurs, send a telegram to Luxembourg! ;)

I'm too in a bit of a confision here at work. I hope I'll be able of spending some more time next week!
Have a nice week end all of you

After a bit of confusion on "Would You Recommend This Book?", Shirley suggested renaming the thread. I have done that - I changed it to "Has Anyone Read This Book?"(Diane suggested that title).

Thanks Leslie!
thanks Leslie. I remember people asking about a 'recommendation' thread in the spirit of: which book to best read when wanting to read something by Fitzgerald or by a North-Korean author or by...and so on. I was wondering whether it could be a combined thread, like a general thread for recommendations or enquiries about certain books? (In which case it would need re-naming again ;)) or a seperate thread.

Maybe people could still ask those questions there even though the name of the thread doesn't fit?
I guess it would be alright for most of us, but it might be very confusing for new members. Unfortunately I can't come up with a clever combined title right now, without turning it into half a novel, but that maybe because it is early. ;) Maybe someone else has an idea?
How about "I'd like to try reading...what would you recommend?"
For example - I'd like to try reading Dickens/Jane Austen/mysteries/books set in Africa - and then people could add suggestions?
Or maybe someone could come up with a better title - might be a bit too wordy..?
Re-arranged our bookshelf to show the current group reads and added 'Persuasion' as well.@Shirley, that ain't a bad suggestion, short and crisp is overrated anyhow ;) (and all I came up with was even longer!)

Yes, Shirley's is a good title.
I'll open the may fiction read nominations shortly :)

Hi all,
I'm not going to be on here much for a while until I get things sorted. School is so busy and I'm also currently looking for a new job. On top of that an old friend passed away today (on her birthday:() so I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by life at the moment. I will be back to moderating duties in a week or so.

Sorry to hear that Rowena, I think we all understand when life gets a bit overwhelming...take care and we'll see you when you're ready...
I'm sorry to hear about about your friend Rowena :( i totally understand the overwhelmed feeling, thats why I've been kind of absent lately. I hope school goes well and that life gets less stressful for you soon :) and good luck with the job hunt!
Thank you all for understanding. You all do so much work in the group and I really want to acknowledge that. I am trying to take it easy and hopefully after a week or so away I'll be refreshed and ready for duty:)
Rowena, I am so sorry about your friend. Take good care of yourself and it'll all still be here when you are back, so don't worry. x

No problemo, I had some free time :) That is me officially finished Uni now woo hoo :) Unfortunately I think I failed that exam (I panicked, I nearly had a panic attack because the questions were so confusing and did not relate to anything she told us to study at all!!).

I was wondering what had happened. The rules coming out - and I don't know if it's linked to this, but the font of what I write - not what comes out when I post, but when I'm writing - has changed!!!
