Yes, good idea.
Hi folks! :) I'm starting to get back into my routine so should be around more from now on. I will be able to do the fiction nominations and poll this month.
Do you reckon we should open a Christmas reading challenge, similar to the Spooky Booky Challenge? If so, I will probably start it on Sunday.

Sorry I meant the nominations and poll next month for January (can't edit on my phone).

Yes, I think a holiday challenge would be nice. My only concern is whether some people who aren't Christian might be offended... or maybe not. How about 'winter holiday' which could then include Chanukah and Kwanzaa?
Oooooh good idea, I hadn't even thought of that. I'll start researching religious holidays that take place during December.

Yes probably it would be better this way!

So far it would have 3 rather simple categories: (to be clear, this is not about books released in 2013, but about books read in 2013)
Favourite books of the year
Least favourite books of the year
Most pleasant literary discovery made in 2013
If anyone is dying to add a question let me know;)

Should be interesting, but seems a bit early for year-end roundups to me...

I've just reorganized our bookshelf and was wondering whether there was a verdict out already concerning our January/February reads for Classics and our January read for Fiction. ( I guess we start with Nightmare Abbey in January and poll on Doris Lessing?)
Also, should we send out a monthly group reads message?

I can't believe we're already in december. We've done a good job up to now, don't you think? In a minute I'll be moving! ARGGG
For our next group read I think you're right Jenny: Nightmare Abbey and the poll with Lessing's books.
Do you need any help?

Yes I'll do the poll :)
Yes I'll do the poll :)

Shirley, no decision yet regarding the next group play but it can wait until the Jan. email anyway. For the Dec email message, the group classic is still Wuthering Heights...

Just got it & it looks fine. Thanks for sending it!

I think poetry also...
Hi all :) would any non-fiction books by Doris Lessong be appropriate in the poll? i only ask because it is technically the group fiction read. Thanks! :)
Thanks Jenny, I thought that, but wasn't sure. There is one non-fiction book that has already been put to poll but I'll take it off and link the poll :)

Is this problem just me or is it general? Hopefully with it now showing on the group home page, more people will vote but it would be good to have it appear with the other polls too...

Seen the poll and voted as well: better do it when I can, these days I never know how and when I'll be able to come here.
Sorry again if I'm not so working and helping, but I've started packing and even if we already don't know where to put the boxes, we're not even close to half of the things... I won't survive, I know!!!!

It's 6 of us, I'd say we'll manage ;)

Don't worry, although we will miss seeing you here as frequently, we will be able to carry on. Packing up during the holiday season must be hard - I will send you positive thoughts!

Do it please!!!!
Do it please!!!!
I've found out how to take away the ugly Moderator highlighting thing. Would you like me to or should we just leave it? It can be turned on again at any time.

I for one would like it to be gone - hate it! But I suspect that in a few days I won't even notice it, so I am willing to go with the majority opinion.
