Robin Botie | 2 comments I'm Robin Botie, mother of Marika Warden, the girl in Ithaca NY who kicked Leukemia but died of complications at the age of twenty. The first night of the day I returned home forever without my daughter, I found a brand new journal with one poem in it, written on the first page. The rest of the journal was blank. It was like my daughter was beckoning me, maybe even daring me, to continue. In the days that followed, as I tore through her belongings, I found more and more poems, prose, and songs she had written. I thought she had not been facing her disease but she had been writing all along with leukemia, about what it was like to be young and have cancer, and how her life and relationships were changing and about death. One day, I started responding to her words in a letter. It was like she was sitting right next to me, having conversations. It was like we were playing duets. My own words and feelings have been pouring out ever since. One of the last things Marika said to me was, "Mom! Get a life!" And this book marks my time of clawing and scrambling and finally designing my way to life.

I need more followers/stronger platform before my book can become a thing. I need an agent and a publisher and I appreciate advice and suggestions! Thanks so much! It means a lot!
I hope you enjoy it.
Cheers Always,
Robin
