Tim | 8539 comments 261.

Although Bernoulli is pretty much disproved in favour of Newton III when it comes to lift. (but Bernoulli is still the popular - but wrong - answer)

message 14: by Bill (new)

Bill (s0litaire) | 109 comments it went by too fast for my old media centre ^_^ only got 161 (got distracted by Felicia Day in her guild outfit >_< never recovered!)

message 15: by Darren (new)

Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 6903 comments Felicia Day will do that to you.

message 16: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments I tried it twice and got 50 something the first time and ninety something the second.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments So, in other words, Jim cheated.

message 18: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments I missed the start first time around then got disturbed by the phone. After reading Jim's post tried again(different questions) and scored 203! It said 'The geek is strong in you'.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Strong in you is the geek.

Sorry.

Yoda moment.

message 20: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments :@)!

too right. I'm not a geek therefore it's allowed :-)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I'll probably get about three.

message 23: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments I scored 121 and it meant absolutely nothing to me!

Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 6903 comments Patti (Baku Bound) wrote: "Strong in you is the geek.

For a true Yoda moment that should have read 'strong in you the geek is'

Sorry, but I'm still not saying what i got.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments 217. How do they score it, and how do you know if you got the answers right?

message 26: by Bill (new)

Bill (s0litaire) | 109 comments think it's based on how quick you click and if you get the correct answer ^_^

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments you're right Darted. only a true geek would know that
bet you got 300

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments darted? guess i made a pointed remark. hehe

message 29: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Last night I got into a rather heated discussion about this test. Someone happened to mention they got quite a bad score and someone else was like "well then you aren't a proper geek" which set me off into rant mode about how people shouldn't even judge that.

I know it's meant to be fun and it was but damn people should not use this as a way to make others feel bad :(

message 30: by Bill (new)

Bill (s0litaire) | 109 comments but! you must ask!

Was this person's low score "42"?

If yes then he is the uber-geek and wins the internets!

^__^

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Don't think my brain is functioning well enough to attempt this yet.

I just dumped a glass of water in the bin and poured an ashtray into the sink.

message 32: by Bill (new)

Bill (s0litaire) | 109 comments lol!!
done something like that myself today!

Washed my coffee mug and i just caught myself as i was about to throw the mug in the washer/dryer and put the tea-towel under the coffee maker >_<

message 33: by Darren (new)

Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 6903 comments Amazing how being a geek is suddenly almost cool.

The point I always like to make is that everyone is a geek and only the subject changes. I'm a sci-fi geek, but there are footie geeks, history geeks, war geeks, royalty geeks, stamp geeks, chess geeks, surfing geeks ... etc.

It's whatever gets your geek on. As long as nobody else gets hurts, it's all good.

message 34: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments I suspect that confessing to be a geek is a sign of lack of self confidence.
If you have enough self confidence then you're the Renaissance Man (or Woman) who has a wide knowledge of all important areas. The areas where you don't have any knowledge are of no important.
So the difference between the well rounded individual and the geek is actually the geek lacks the self confidence to bluff :-)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Geeks are my favourite people.

Anyone who has great enthusiasm for something is damn cool in my books.

Apart from genocide, rape and other obvious exceptions...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Odd what immediately came to your mind Darren.

Odd but not surprising.

message 38: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Darren wrote: "Apart from genocide, rape and other obvious exceptions..."

Apparently wearing socks with sandals is one of the exceptions :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Darren wrote: "Patti (Baku Bound) wrote: "Geeks are my favourite people.

So Gengis Khan doesn't qualify?

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Did Gengis wear his sandals with socks? I had him down as more of a boot guy

message 41: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I am not lacking in any type of self-confidence Jim but I would rightly associate myself as being a huge geek ;)

But I agree with Darren. Everyone is a geek really :D

message 42: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments It's like Terry Pratchett's monks of cool

“The Monks of Cool, whose tiny and exclusive monastery is hidden in a really cool and laid-back valley in the lower Ramtops, have a passing-out test for a novice. He is taken into a room full of all types of clothing and asked: Yo, my son, which of these is the most stylish thing to wear? And the correct answer is: Hey, whatever I select.”

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Only a geek would post a Pratchett quote. ;)

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments I couldn't work out what to do. That must mean I am zero geek.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I couldn't be bothered...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Rosemary wrote: "Did Gengis wear his sandals with socks? I had him down as more of a boot guy"
