Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) | 0 comments Today I got the chance to interview Adam Santo!

Adam is the author of
Temperature Dead + Rising (Temperature, #1) by Adam Santo Temperature Bitter Cold (Temperature, #2) by Adam Santo Ocean's Fury by Adam Santo
All 3 are on our group up for review, so make sure to check them out!

What was the first thing you remember writing?
I have been saying for years that 'A Wrinkle in Time' is the first book I ever remember reading, but my son recently proved me wrong when he brought home 'The Mouse and the Motorcycle'. It amazed me how he picked up a book from my childhood and loves just as much I did when I was his age.

Who are your inspirations when writing? Authors Family? Friends?
Several authors over the years have inspired me to read more. Reading opened up my mind to new and interesting ways of seeing the world, and in turn helped me understand how to write with meaning. Authors like Jim Butcher, Piers Anthony, Terry Brooks, and Fred Saberhagen are just a few inspirational writers off the top of my head. My son should not be left out of the equation. He has loved reading ever since the first book I read to him at bedtime - Dr. Seuss's ABC (Beginner Books, I Can Read It All By Myself).

What is your favorite genre to write and why?
I have to say fiction in general is my mainstay when it comes to writing and fantasy novels is where my talent rests. Writing about worlds no one knows about sparks my creative side into overdrive with visions of foreign landscapes only I've seen or creating cultures to make a reader scratch their chin in wonderment.

What are your plans for future books/ series?
I plan to finish out the Temperature Trilogy and move on to a manuscript I was asked to write by a independent movie producer. He would like to see his movie, County Road 14, turned into a book. I must profess that changing a movie script into a book isn't as easy as it sounds. After that, I have a few unfinished manuscripts waiting - almost crying out - to be finished.

Do you have a favorite character in your books?
I will have to choose Bocnic over everyone else. He has strong convictions that level the playing field between good and evil. There are times he has bent to the belief others hold dear if the reasoning is sound, but it doesn't happen often.

Who/ what do you model your characters after?
I didn't pick people in my life to model each of my characters after; however, traits found in every human being were tossed into a blender and I took out what floated on top to build them from. I couldn't narrowing down where their pet peeves, habits, or moral standings where to a signal person. I wanted them to feel unique in my head and on paper.

Hi Jackie,
I don't have a question, just wanted to thank you for the opportunity. I can be funnier, however, interviews make me think on a serious level.

Respectfully,
Adam Santo
