Can anyone suggest any real good ghost story books?!

The Haunting of Hill House is a really good one. It's less ghosts and more psychological, but it's still a great ghost story :)

ok so if you like Susan Hill then you would like James Herbert - some of his stories are horror based but lots are ghost based. I remember reading the Magic Cottage as a teenager whilst babysitting and being unable to move from the sofa till the parents got home!

The secret of Crinkley Hall is also good.

I have loads but I read them all years ago - don't read the Goodreads blurb on Crinkley as it spoils the whole book! That was the last one I read and the best!
