Hi, wondering if the mods can help please - can't get into the 'what have you just read' thread at all. It just times out. Have tried several times yesterday and today with no joy. I think maybe it's got too long?

Same for me Pam. Goodreads seems slow altogether and especially so on the very long threads.

I am no longer a mod but I suspect that the problem is that the thread is indeed too long. Over 10,000 posts!

It loads ok on my laptop, but that probably varies a lot depending on what device you use. I'll make a new thread tonight and archive the old one.

I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem, but I can’t open the “June & July 2023—Non Fiction Group Read—Nomination Thread” in Group Reads—Non Fiction. GR either tells me that it can’t find the page, or that the page no longer exists. I know there have been some issues with creating threads recently, so I wonder if this one has ended up in limbo somehow?

I don’t know if any of the mods here are in the Moderator Support Group, but there’s an ongoing thread there about a similar issue with new threads. It’s actually an old thread, but has been revived by some posts today. I haven’t seen anyone mention the threads being unreachable, though.

Hi spoko, a moderator in another short story group that I'm part of just created a thread for his group, and I can't get into that one either. Looks like at the moment, we can add posts to existing threads, but any new threads we create end up in limbo.

What’s odd is that you can edit the thread—mark it as important, delete it, rename it, etc.—but just can’t get to it. You can even actually read the post that created on the thread, by looking at the user history of the person who created it. But just can’t actually get to the thread or the post. All quite strange. Hope they get it worked out soon!

Sorry, it's been a tough few months. The annoying thing is that I did set up a thread for September. I will probably set one up for the week possibly late October/ early November.
