Roland Nuñez | 55 comments Our group read for the month of August is Halls of Ivy (Book 1). Thanks everyone for taking part in this group read and hope you enjoy the novel.

Feel free to discuss the book in this thread- the plots, the characters, the settings and so on. As the author, I'd also be happy to answer any questions and am open to feedback of any kind- yes, even constructive. :p

Keep in mind that the thread will contain spoilers, so be cautious if you haven't finished the book yet when perusing this thread.

L.F. Falconer | 63 comments Roland--I'm afraid I'm really struggling with this. Your writing is sharp and succinct, but the presentment of so many characters is leaving me mind-boggled. I'm still working on it, though...halfway through so far.

Roland Nuñez | 55 comments Ha, don't fret, I've heard that from several people. I had a feeling that would be an issue when I was writing the book, but my goal was to make the reader feel like they were inside that college, and college is all about meeting more people than you can keep up with in the beginning.

The idea is that all the characters are introduced in the first book in short spurts, and as the series progresses, the reader gets to know those same characters better and better. That way, upon rereading the series, the reader could catch foreshadowings and clues that they missed the first time around.

But this is all theory, of course. I'm just hoping it doesn't deter people from enjoying the first book in in general. Things should start tying together towards the end of the book.

Ashley (ashleylamar) What a great choice! We loved it over at Closed the Cover and are looking forward to reading Book #2. Roland, I hope everyone in this group enjoys your book as much as we did.
