No, I don't believe you have! But you are very welcome :o)
Why, I am Angela McMurray the first. I am from Australia, currently reading my second Jane Austen, just finished The Lord of the Flies (thank goodness!) and I am SUPER excited to be part of this group :)
You are most welcome Angela MacMurray the 1st, hope you enjoy Sense and Sensibility more than Lord of The Flies . From what I recall the children are rather better behaved :0)
Well, seeing as you've asked, I'm Andrea, I'm from Liverpool and am hoping to read lots of different books. I like reading fantasy and sci-fi the best
Hi Andrea, welcome to the group, nice to 'meet' you :). I can definitely say that I've been introduced to books and authors I'd never have read otherwise as a result of joining this group. We're reading Stranger in a Strange Land at the moment, which is sci-fi, have you read it?
Not yet. I'll add it to my shelf if/when I get the chance.
I've got an as-yet-unpublished fantasy book of my own (yes, my own work)which at the moment is in the "creative writing" section.
But enough of that - would you like me to read anything you've written?

Hi Andrea - lovely to have you with us. I'm very impressed that you've written a book - I haven't written any fiction since I was at school when all my stories tended to end - " and I woke up and it was all a dream - or was it?"
I haven't really read much sci fi or fantasy - what would you recommend to a novice like me ?

Except that I've not submitted it to any publishers yet, nor have I gone down the "i'll-publish-it-myself-and-have-done-with-it route.
Terry Brooks is a favourite sci-fi/fantasy author of mine plus Kevin Anderson's work is good, there's a wide variety.

It's called Fantastica - Surreal stories & poems, and it's a fictitious piece of work that covers different surreal topics. If you want to take a peek at it, it's on the creative writing section or it's on Authonomy :

Cool, I'll check it out when I have some time ;)
I can't write for toffee so haven't got anything to share in return I'm afraid!

Hi everyone. I'm Anna and I live in King's Lynn, Norfolk. Got the GR app on my smartphone but this is the first time I've joined an on-line reading group. Like the idea that you have a vote on the next book to read. Hope to read some great books in the coming year.
Hi Anna - welcome to Goodreads - please feel free to comment on any and everything.
What's your favourite sort of book?

Hi Anna, nice to 'meet' you :) I've driven past King's Lynn 3 times this week, doing so again tomorrow on my way home - been visiting family for Christmas :)I've certainly read some great books as a result of this group, hope you enjoy being part of it :)

Thanks Lee. I've a weakness for mysteries (murder or otherwise). Also like satires eg.Pratchett. Mainly try to read good quality fiction (contemporary & classic). Now getting into foreign authors: arabic/indian/spanish

Thanks Ellie. Have a safe journey on the A47! Have you ever looked around KL? It's very historic. Apparently Daniel Defoe once visited and met a sailor called Robin Cruso. Not sure how true it is, but there is a Cruso gravestone c.1750 in St. Nicholas church, so it's not impossible:)
Hello, I am Cynthia and live in Ottawa, Canada and I am fortunate to live a life filled with wonderful books, have a wonderful book-loving husband, a terrific book-loving 13 year old son, and a home where we can sacrifice a small bedroom for library. I spend a lot of time roaming libraries, thrift shops and book sales soaking in heaps and heaps of sweet books. I love many genres, but books with many characters require me to keep a character list handy.
Hi Cynthia
I'm from Liverpool. I like reading too, mostly books in the sci-fi/fantasy genre.

Hi Cynthia - glad to have you with us - please feel free to comment on any (or all) of our threads.
I am so jealous of your library room!

@Anna, so sorry, I missed your post :( I have not stopped off in KL yet, I only recently started doing that route, used to take the one via Swaffham but I was warned of roadworks, so went via KL and now prefer that route, so I will have to plan a stop off in KL next time I head that way. I love an historic town!!
Cynthia, welcome! I too am jealous of your library, and how fabulous to have a family full of book lovers :)
After ogling this group for months, I've decided I am done ogling and ready joining since I really like your choice of books, the monthly author feature and the daily poem.I am a German with a heavy Northern Irish lilt due to much time spent there, though luckily you'll be spared the sound of that weird mixture of accents.
If I would have to define my reading habits I'd say I mostly read literary fiction, but will gladly pick up (almost) every other genre as well, and I definitely love poetry and read a growing amount of non-fiction.
And now I am off to read my way through your threads ;)
Hi Jenny, great to have you in the group :) I hope you've enjoyed reading through our threads :)Your accent certainly sounds interesting, I'm trying to imagine it but probably getting nowhere near!
Look forward to chatting with you more.
Hi Jenny - it's great to have you with us. We don't mind being ogled but it's even nicer when people join in and comment. :0) Like Ellie, I'm trying and failing to imagine your accent - Marlene Dietrich with a touch of Liam Neeson? I'd love to hear it any way.
Thank you for the warm welcome, and Lee: I am going to say that this "Marlene Dietrich with a touch of Liam Neeson?" is exactly what it sounds like, simply because nobody ever made it sound so flattering before;)
Hey :) I'm Suzan, 22 years of age. Dutch. I love reading - I've recently been reading a lot of classic literature but I've been trying to fit in some contemporary as well. I've read some YA fantasy books too, but I'm afraid I've outgrown them. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all and discuss books with you :)
Hi Suzan - lovely to have you with us.
Hey everyone, I started looking around the site yesterday and really appreciated your group's format, the clincher was The Idiot as a current read. One of my all-time favorites, although it has been about 30 years since I last read it. Anyway, hello from the deep South in the US, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Hi Antipodes - welcome to the group - please feel free to comment on any of our threads - or start a new one.
I'm really enjoying The Idiot so far - Russian books seem to have a flavour all of their own - I think that they're my favourite books to read in translation.

Hey Antipodes! Welcome to the group. Glad to hear you enjoyed The Idiot so much - feel free to chip into the discussion thread for it. I'm really looking forward to starting it, it's my first Dostoyevsky!
