How do I add another edition of a book?

I got a book today at the library but it is a different edition than what is listed here on goodreads. In fact the other editions are not even listed. Can you please help me in telling me how to add another edition of a book. Thanks!

Sarah, if you search for your edition and can't find it, there's a link for "manually add books" on the side of the search page -- use that link to add your edition, then leave another comment here with a link to it and one of the librarians will combine it with the other editions.

Sarah, Well then after you've added the missing edition, you should combine it with any other editions of the book that were already in the Goodreads database.

Is there a way to copy an existing edition and then make edits to it rather than have to enter all of the information over again? In my case, some of the books don't have Audio versions in here and I wanted to add it. First I've been searching for instructions about how to add a new edition - I think I just found it here. But, it just seems like I should be able to either go get the audio book info from Amazon or somewhere or copy one that's already there and modify the few areas that are different. I've never tried adding a book manually - so perhaps there will be something in there to help me - but just figured I'd throw this question out here so I don't waste alot of time trying to figure it out :)! Thankx!

P.S. Is there info in the librarian manual about how to add a new edition (including instructions for combining them after you add them)? I saw some instructions on combining in there – but I didn’t see anything about adding a new edition (unless I just missed it).

No, as far as I know we still must manually enter a new edition from scratch.

to combine, after you've added your edition, go to that author's page, and click on the combine editions link, then check mark your edition and the other editions of that book to combine and click save.

Kerry, if your audiobook has an ISBN and is currently for sale on any Amazon site, if you search for that ISBN the information from Amazon will be imported. Amazon is the only external site that GR currently has this agreement with, unfortunately, and I know not all audiobooks have ISBNs or are sold through Amazon, but it's always worth trying!

Well, there's a Feedbook agreement too, IIRC. Not likely to help much with audiobooks though. ;)

Thanks Cait & Lisa for your help!! I appreciate your quick response. I'll try the searching by ISBN and see if that'll work. I did just search for the one specific book I was looking for on Amazon and it only has the Audible audio book listed which is probably why it hasn't been imported before now. Apparently Audible audio books don't have an ISBN - bummer! This will probably work for others though - sounds like I'll have to add this one by hand. Thanks again!

The Fall It has a new cover and edited/changed content.

Can you replace or combine or whatever this version The Fall with the new one?
