I. (leavemylyricsalone) | 14 comments I hope that I am not being presumptuous in bringing up this matter, but I feel as though I have spent a lot of years collecting publications on how to publish rather than taking that leap of faith and just actually do it already! Would someone mind offering any words of wisdom regarding this writing resource? I find it very intriguing but at the same time expert advice would really help to alleviate any doubts I may have. Thank you for your advance consideration.

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) Never heard of it, frankly. Never heard of it being either an obstacle or an advantage, so my advice is to proceed with your career as if it didn't matter (this is usually the wisest course in any dilemma or quandary).

I. (leavemylyricsalone) | 14 comments Not so much of a quandary. I just wanted to see if it should be considered another addition to my itinerary. I certainly appreciate your straightforward and sound advice. I never heard of it either, hence the question.
Thank you.

The one thing that I know is that the writing is the easy bit of any author. It is the marketing that is the hard part in writing and it never gets any easier. Mary

That used to be an extremely valuable resource when publishing was print editions only, but is becoming less and less useful as more people self-publish and e-books are pushing print copies off the shelf.

Your right. That to me is a whole different animal; a place I tread lightly, but I am learning to adapt and that there is only one way to see my words in print. I guess I am also learning that there is no easier way to do this, So, this is why I graciously ask for help. Maybe just one more book would only frustrate me more. Just need to believe in me and in my product. Always value words of wisdom. Thank you.

Now this makes perfect sense. Of course this would be invaluable for the print market. Today its self-publishing and e-books. I so believe I am seeing the light. I am currently compiling some work and researching these avenues. This publication interested me because that's who we are as writers. Needing to have the best to get to our goal. This book is becoming obsolete in our very digital/ cyber-age world, which in a way is sad, but like all things, advancement is on the horizon (daily). Thank You.

Mary Filmer | 119 comments Hi, I will never believe the printed book is coming to an end. May be it will be only hard covers in the future but there is always those out there who still like the printed book. Yes you are right it is a ebook world and it is faster and cheaper but then if you follow a author and like there books you want to have them on your shelve. I have a whole room full of books. May be in the future paper will be made different but we will always have a book we can hold. I am sure of it. Mary. Mary Sumeridge Beginnings by Mary Filmer

I. (leavemylyricsalone) | 14 comments I have to smile at your stance for the written word in printed form, Working in library services for several years, I truly love the look, feel and smell of a book. There is just something about the effort put into making an idea into that grand story to be perused and to slowly glean over the pages. Perhaps obsolete is too harsh despite the current world we live in, so it is nice to hear a passionate voice among the ranks. Hard work is what it is despite the packaging. Does there even exist a frustration-free method for the writing/publishing process? Thank you, Mary.

I. (leavemylyricsalone) | 14 comments Thank you all for allowing me to indulge in you time, experience and thoughts. I feel I have learned a lot just by being open to suggestions. You all have been more than generous and patient with a rookie testing out the waters. Because I am very inquisitive, I will look into this resource and perhaps share what I learn and discover there.
