So happy to hear, Laura! And you're welcome. Emma Jameson is one of my top favorite authors. I'll read anything she writes.

I just finished Nicholas Meyer's
The Adventure of the Peculiar Protocols: Adapted from the Journals of John H. Watson, M.D.
Featuring fake news, people believing what they want to believe,
and much adventure.

thanks and have a great day. Take care/stay safe

I read The Woman in White years ago and, although I vaguely recall enjoying it, I am slightly embarrassed to say that I remember nothing other than the name of Count Fosco. So I am listening to it now, a little less than 1/3 of the way through, and I am absolutely enthralled. So far, I think it's a brilliant selection!

There was a MASTERPIECE DRAMA production which was also good.
Has anyone here read the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn? I watched the Netflix show earlier this month and immediately added the audiobook to my library holds.

I read the entire series a while back and enjoyed it very much. I don’t get Netflix, so I haven’t seen the adaptation.

I did. It's fun and engaging but very light, not a lot of substance there. Like reading dessert.

Lindsey Davis series.

I'm currently reading Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America, which is awesome. The local library did Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You as a community read, and I enjoyed it, but since I'm a history and data person I wanted more detail, so the original is pretty much perfect.

I'm new here and wondering if you could tell me what Bouchercon is? The St. James book you mentioned sounds right up my alley!

This should answer your question: https://www.bouchercon2021.com/

Boucher on is a wonderful mystery convention where fans can mingle and meet mystery authors. There are panels where authors talk about various aspects of mysteries and writing mysteries. There are dinners and other meet ups. And, of course, there are books!

That got a great review and is on my TBR list. But right now, having finished Dracula for our next group read, I am moving on to the August read, The Historian, by Elizabeth Kostova

I love those books. Wish she would write more.

That sounds interesting, especially your further comment on another thread about how the book is divided up. I don't believe we've ever discussed a book a section at a time like that.
