Request to add books

Hi,

I have just joined goodreads and have been advised by Sarah Chang that to register as an author I will first need to have my books added to the book list by the Librarian group, as I use a pen name (David Bruce).

The books are on Amazon Kindle and are:

"Finishing School" by David Bruce, added 13 December, 2011
"Night of the Whirlwind" by David Bruce, added 7 January, 2012
"Falcon" by David Bruce, added 31 July, 2013

Please note: there are other Davide Bruce profiles on Goodreads. To disambiguate you from them, you are David^^^Bruce with THREE spaces between your first and last name. You must enter new books with your name and three spaces to link them to your specific author profile. Otherwise, they will appear under the wrong author profiles.

Also, at least one of your books was already entered on Goodreads. You might take some time to search for any other books of yours to see if they are already here and under the wrong David Bruce profile. If so, you can always get a librarian to fix them for you.

Thanks very much for adding the books - truly appreciated! My sharing of an ancestral name duly noted...

I will also check out the potential duplicate entries - it did not occur to me that any of my books might have made it here already - I was concentrating on the task of getting registered.

I hope that this addition to the existing thread is the way to make this library request...

As suggested, I have checked out my books that were already on goodreads and discovered that these are historical in that they are paperbacks which were available before the publisher went out of business, so they are no longer available in that version. It would probably be best if those three book references were deleted, or modified if possible, to reflect the present situation. So, could I request that the following three book references are deleted:

We never delete books no matter how old or if they are oop. Think of GR as a library and not a bookstore.

I've created the 2 wren series kindle books, the other was already in the system. I've also created the series for you. And combined all the appropriate books.

If you'd like the kindle books to be the primary works, only you as the author can change which book comes up first.

Hi Sandra,

Thanks very much for clarifying the position(s) of the books. I have looked up the instructions for changing the default edition, so I selected the correct book edition and clicked on (what I believe to be) the correct link ("Edit Details") but I get the following message:

Your permissions will only allow the editing of the metadata

Would I be correct to think that my registration of author has not completed yet? If I wait a day or so, will I be permitted to make the edition change?

David, looking at your profile it is obvious that the authorship hasn't gone through yet. When it says Goodreads Author beside your name, you'll be official ;)
