Chapter 1 complete

This re-read will be interesting, comparing it to the film. As I'm re-introduced to Clary, Jace, Simon I see Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower & Robert Sheehan. I cannot say the same for Kevin Zegers & Jemima West as Alec & Isabella. I envisioned Alec taller than Jace & that kinda of guy that is just beautiful with slightly effeminate features yet encompasses strength. And Isabella is this striking beauty that share many of those character with Alec. I may be nit-picking but i dont see that in KZ & JW but I'm keeping an open mind on their casting since every clip I've seen so far as been AMAZEBALLS!

I see already that they tweaked how Clary meets Jace & Co. Instead of being in a back room it happens in the main room of the club which brings more drama & action.

It's been mentioned that the pacing in the beginning of the book is slow but I dont find so. My attention is instantly captured, curiosity is piqued - why can Clary see them? Jace is instantly treats Clary differently - curious/fascinated. Since by the way Isabelle reacts to him its not like him to just let someone go.

ok so I kinda have fallen off on my re-read of this one but I am reading about shadow hunters in clockwork prince which I'm really enjoying. hopefully this wknd i will bust through this re-read in time for our date night!!!

Chapter 3 complete

Clary just got the frantic from her Mother. Lena Headey as Jocelyn is going to be great! Seeing the more badass side of her soon than later in the film will be great. We don't get a sense of that in the books until much later on. Yes we know she's a shadowhunter that ran away so obviously she's strong & able to fight but when we meet her, she is s mother 1st; doing anything to protect her daughter. I love that we will see more of Jocelyn being taken in the film. In the book that was very light almost like she was a victim the teaser shoe her giving a good fight & take a potion another thing changed cause in the book we learn that she took something much later on in the book.
