I can't wait to see where this story takes angels. I've heard so many good things about this, I can't wait to start it. Saying that, I'm still trying to go in with low/average expectations so I hopefully won't be disappointed.

Andrea I haven't heard of this book at all before now, so I'm going in completely blind/unswayed. Can't remember the last time that happened :)

Laura AP (0nlybyl4ur4) I've read a review on it by my best friend, so I ended up with pretty high expectations. I really like to see this new light on angels and a complete new perspective on the matter. i also enjoy that its a dystopian, so all in all I'm pretty excited to read it!

Alise (alisemarie) That's actually good Andrea, that way you have no expectations ha. I've read nothing but positive reviews as well but still don't know what to expect for angels. All the angel books I've read weren't all that great.

I wish I knew as much as you, Andrea.

I've read some okay angel books. None that blew my mind though.

Laura AP (0nlybyl4ur4) yeah, angel books aren't my thing either. I hated fallen and that brought it pretty much down for the whole sub-genre thing. I picked up some of the others to read but couldn't be really interested eother. the only one that I liked a bit was Hush Hush, which was omay.

anyway positive reviews send you with good expectations, but sometimes it really does suck if your reading doesn't meet them.

Andrea I've only read two angel series - Embrace and Unearthly - and loved both of them. Though I have read reviews for a quite a few others that weren't rated quite so well.

Alise (alisemarie) I thought for sure you were going to say Halo, Andrea! I was like, we can't be friends. I still need to read Unearthly.

True, true, Laura. I think high expectations for the 5th Wave is what ruined that book for me. I haven't read Fallen and I'm pretty sure I don't want to, ha!

The 5th Wave was good Alise. Your tastes just suck :P (I say this despite us liking 90% of the same books)

Unearthly was good! And I enjoyed Hush Hush. Fallen I still haven't finished the series. But Angelfall really does sound different. Darker, I think. I don't know.

Laura AP (0nlybyl4ur4) god, seriously, Alise, don't bother with Fallen. SO BORING. she just dragged the first book entirely and I dropped offthe series.
i haven't read Unearthy and not seen any reviews, but if you guys say it's nice I'll check it out sometime.

Yeah, from what I heard Angelfall takes it to a new darker view of the thing. I really enjoyed it, because I'm kind of tired of only novels focusing on romance-y things tbh

I enjoyed Unearthly. It's good. Still haven to read the last book.

Mmm romance only focus is annoying but I've read a lot of books recently where the is romance, but it's part of the side plot more than anything.

Andrea I'm glad I haven't read Halo, then! And if our friendship is at risk, Alice, I shall skip it entirely. Wasn't even on my TBR list, so no loss really.

I cried during Boundless, the last Unearthly book. Not Clockwork Princess cried, but there were tears. Definitely a series I recommend.

I could use a dark book in my life. I can't remember the last time I read something ominous and foreboding. Gosh, I love those two words!

I will probably read it eventually because I own all them but I am so dreading it. I hear her new series is just as bad, apparently she didn't learn anything.

I hope it does focus on the darker side. Kind of like Daughter of Smoke and Bone, it has romance but I love how dark it is too.

Haha! I cringe every time I walk past the series in the library.

I don't think any book could be Clockwork Princess cried! I will for sure pick up Unearthly soon, then.

Yay, vocabulary. I like malevolent, myself.

Laura AP (0nlybyl4ur4) Yeah, daughter of smoke and bone was awesome! I cried too much on CP2 as well.

anyway I usually don't mind romance when the book is well written and the characters are well rounded. Romance is actually really cute - but when you know how to writeit. I even like when the whole story is about love - like Delirium. Such beautiful writing and a complete story with believable characters! But Fallen is just silly. I'm still very upset about it actuallt haha

Bec (Aussie Book Dragon) (aussiebookdragon) | 129 comments Mod
I haven't read Delirium yet. It's waiting on the tbr...

Fallen I read 3 or so years ago. Around when it first came out so I can't really remember anything about it.

Andrea So... I'm just starting this now. >_<

Oops.

Alise (alisemarie) I still haven't started it :D
