Aug BOTM: Chapters 20-29 Discussion: Pivot Point

I finished the book last week, so I tried to do this with my notes. And it's all over the place LOL

Brody is the cutest character of all-time. Finding out that Trevor (view spoiler)[ is like hugely into graphic novels and comics (hide spoiler)] was just so awesome!

I literally was gobbling up (view spoiler)[Addie's trip to her dad's for a football game on the Para reality timeline, but also having the Norm version of it in alternating chapters. (hide spoiler)] Around this point is where I stopped liking Duke. Thank you, West, for making this one an easy pick! Team Trevor!!

It was rough to read about (view spoiler)[Trevor's throwing arm...that it's just the motion of throwing that he can't do. Steph is one of the characters I wanted to strangle the whole entire time. I wish one of Trevor's friends would have stopped her party from happening. But Addie going to his house after he leaves makes it worth the Steph crap. I love Trevor's mom. I also couldn't stop smiling at how completely adorable they are. The comic book about Addie...gahhhh (hide spoiler)].

Duke's (view spoiler)[ whole creeper - having a file on Addie thing definitely sealed the deal for me on not liking him. I mean that's just weird and horrible and CREEPY (hide spoiler)].

Ok, so I am officially Team Trevor lol. Last week I was on the fence, but this week it is official that I hate Duke.

I was sketched about Duke from the start, just a little wary. I read last week's portion and this week's over the last couple of days (got distracted by other stuff). And now I sort of hate Duke. The PARA scene (view spoiler)[where Duke + gang make fun of Trevor and Duke brushes it off (hide spoiler)] solidified him in my least favorite character spot. Though Stephanie is a close second. I was dying inside (view spoiler)[for Trevor during the stupid party. How can she be so freaking inconsiderate! (hide spoiler)].

Also, I really enjoy just how this book is put together. Because we all want para abilities, right? But I think West does a really great job of showing that maybe it's not all that awesome.

In other news, I'm now at a point where it's freaking impossible to put the book down for another couple days. With under 100 pages left, I'm chomping at the bit to see how it all plays out.

I'm concerned about this Poison thing. I love how West (view spoiler)[included the "findings would be conclusive and binding" in both alternatives (hide spoiler)]. Anxious to see how it all pans out!

I just caught up today, I might just go ahead and finish it while I'm at it.

I hate Duke, he's such a tool. I'm really happy this didn't turn out to be another sappy love triangle.

I'm a bit worried about Poison, though more so on the Norm side for some reason. I think it's because we have less to go on as far as what is he up to.

love. just finished this chapter and I think I'm jumping the fence to team Tucker. ;)

I'm still unsure that Duke is a bad guy though. I'm hoping for really good mystery writing, where the foreshadowing isn't giving it all away.
